Howard Dean says he's running for President, and on paper he's quite a candidate. He's the longest-serving Democratic governor. He signed the first law in the country to allow gay unions. And, he's got the endorsement of America's favorite president-that-isn't: Martin Sheen. In real life, most Americans would pass Howard Dean on the street without a second glance. And another six resolutions and "head-fakes" later--Blix would still be demanding more time, Saddam would be building more palaces, Qusay killing more innocent Iraqis, Uday raping more women and teaching more Olympic hopefuls "how to win", more terrorists training in camps north of Baghdad, more blood money flowing to palistinian suicide bombers, and more children jailed, all in the name of cooperating with the U.N. Who can argue with moral clarity like that? Now that's leadership!

If we retreat now we might as well disband the military. It will be useless as an instrument of national policy.

And that, my friend, is exactly what the Democrats want. As far as they are concerned the only thing the military should be allowed to do is deliver food to people who won't appreciate it anyway. If they had their way, our military would have to trade in its weapons for picks and shovels, their flak vests for aprons, their helmets for berets (too late there), and their boots for Birkenstocks.

Our military would then be ordered to stop singing the songs of their services (bye, bye Marine Corps Hymm), and told join in rousing renditions of "We Are the World" and "Kumbaya." Lastly, our armed forces would be put under the command of the Peace Corps (and seconded to the U.N.), and told that the rights of cross-dressers in uniform have to be respected.

If democrats could get the UN to destroy the American economy, they would do that too.

Democrats are eager for the U.N. to get involved so it can wreck the rebuilding process. Since we didn't let the U.N. lose the war for us, the least we can do is let them screw up the peace.
