Yep, "lady," there is, and has been for some decades, a strong anti-American strain to the Leftists/Dems. But we cannot just assume the voters will rememeber next year. The more of us who get out and volunteer on the president's reelection campaign, the better. Our President and his administration have done their duty. Our soldiers, airmen, Navy personnel, marines and Coast Guard have done theirs. This upcoming election will be our turn to hit back at the terrorists be ensuring the reelection of our honorable President.

Thanks for the thread. I don't own a TV, so I depend on FR for images as well as words. Can someone tell me if these real images are being shown on TV today? And, if so, I still have to wonder how many are tuning to Queer Eye or some other dreck to avoid reality.

You may be right. I was aware the image of a baby might be a trick of the eye. But it is enough to know that some babies and very young children died in these attacks. As I said, one 11-year-old boy was forced to sit on that Flight 77 as it hurtled toward the Pentagon where the child knew his daddy worked. Monstrous. Absolutely monstrous. Far worse than what the Japanese did at Pearl Harbor. Although a surprise attack, that was in a time of war, against a military target, and perpetrated with military equipment.

No, "via," all images shown on TV from the very earliest days were as antiseptic as possible given the events. Even mainstream print media avoided showing the dead and wounded as much as possible. The one famous photo of the deceased fire department priest's body being carried by other firefighters was also antiseptic in a way. He looked almost like he was asleep or unconscious, and had no visible injuries on his body.

For two years now I have had my own pet theory about why it is ok for us to have seen this picture over and over and over ...

.... but not pictures like this one ...

I think it is because of the agenda of the media. The Oklahoma City bombing was supposedly carried out by a right wing extremist so it was ok to show pictures depicting the full horror. But the ones who call terrorists "freedom fighters" don't want us to see the human carnage of 9/11 ...... the broken and bloodied flesh these monsters caused.

The media are complicit in the inane fatuity we know as the ever-sensitive 'progressive society'.

How about a hatred for the west rooted in a hatred of Judaism and/or a hatred of Christianity? Could it be jealously of the west as well?

Even if these guys had what they wanted (global power/endless cash), I am not so sure that they wouldn't be happy till they've wiped us out.

However, I did get to watch a couple of good movies, and tonight I'm watching a biography of Tom Ridge - it's great!

And Monday on Lifetime - they are doing a biography of Laura Bush.

Most parents have no idea what their children's perceptions are of world events or even family events.

Ask them, talk to them, get them to draw pictures, and ask them some more. Tell them what you think of certain happenings and ask them if they think you are right.

My kids were in their twenties before they spoke of their fears when they were little. I felt so bad. Simple misconceptions that caused them unnecessary worries.

I think since there is no pill any doctor can prescribe that can help you, what you need to do is get seriously involved in working for a pivotal Republican candidate if you have one handy.

Or go back to school and study something our country is going to need. If you have the talent, study Korean or Arabic. One problem has been that so many of the people who study this stuff are liberals...and we know where that is getting us.
