I posted this on another thread today and will be a little redundant by posting it again:
Here is a gorgeous commemorative picture. Link only good for today. After today, scroll down to the archives and find the photo for September 11th.

While Pittsburgh AM station KDKA had as it's guest this morning, the minister of information for Islam speaking emphatically about the "hate crimes" against Islam in the US.
Screw you, KDKA. I'm deaf to you now.

NEVER FORGET.
NEVER AGAIN.
LET'S ROLL !
"Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated."
Fellow citizens, we'll meet violence with patient justice -- assured of the rightness of our cause, and confident of the victories to come.
I will not forget this wound to our country or those who inflicted it. I will not yield; I will not rest; I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people...
President George Walker Bush
September 20, 2001
As we remember September 11, 2001, we reaffirm the vows made in the earliest hours of our grief and anger. As liberty's home and defender, America will not tire, will not falter, and will not fail in fighting for the safety and security of the American people and a world free from terrorism. We will continue to bring our enemies to justice or bring justice to them. This Patriot Day, we hold steady to this task.
President George Walker Bush

Dump the stupid monument/development plans. The WTC monument should be open space and those lights, lit every night forever.

That's nothing. Yesterday morning, around 7:45, the host, Larry Richert (?) was interviewing the father of a Marine returning from Iraq. He tried every leading question he could think of to get the father to say that morale was low and things were going bad. But to the father's credit, he never took the bait and maintained his son was happy, morale was steady, and the soldiers and marines were VERY proud of the job they were doing.
Richert couldn't hide his dismay.

Richert couldn't hide his dismay. I have no clue who Richert is, but this is so typical of liberals and Dems--they desperately want Bush, America, and our military to fail.
They make me sick.

I don't blame you a bit. And I'll add, it was all I could do to keep from throwing a brick through my television during the memorial ceremonies in 2001. At some of those services they had what seemed like more Moslems Clerics than Christian clergy there. If I had been a relative of one of the victims at those services, there would have been one clear voice objecting in the cool crist autum air. They'd have heard me in D.C.
To: TomB
Larry RichertYou mean Dan Marino's brother-in-law, right? The man ought to be put down for name dropping. Shame on KDKA for putting him in John Signa's place. He's a disgrace.

The most moving image(s) of the towers of light tribute for me come from a VR 360 image that gives you a movable view from the base of the lights. The spherical image was taken the final night of the original tribute. I bring it up and, at the same time, launch an MP3 of Celine Dion's "A New Day" song. You can accompany it with the audio of your choice.
Link here and then choose the upper right hand picture/link (tribute in light panorama). It will launch a separate window. I think you need to load a free player the first time.

You're right -- only in New York.
I can actually sympathize with those people in one respect, though. One of the things that has apparently gotten out of hand is the crass commercialism around Ground Zero, involving the sale of 9/11-related "memorabilia" (as if New York hosted the Olympics in September of 2001 or something like that).

I'm not sad because there will be the biggest building in the world in its place. (which drives the Islamokazis crazy)
Such is the nature of America, our freedom loving spirit lives inside us.. not a structure or even the Capitol or White House
They dried to destroy our spirit and found that they made it stronger than ever.

After 9/11/01 someone put together a slide show of scenes from the tragedy along with a song. It was so beautiful and I can't believe I didn't bookmark it. Does anyone happen to know where to find it?
