JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- In a historic rebuff of a Missouri governor, lawmakers overrode a third veto of Democratic Gov. Bob Holden -- this time, declaring it illegal for governments to sue the gun industry over the social costs of gun violence.

BWAAAAAAA!!! How many total gubernatorial vetoes overridden by the Missouri Legislature since the Civil War, before yesterday? I'm thinking 4 or 5. Out-of-control Bob just racked up 3 at once!!! This is lookin' like California, folks!!

Shoulda read the article more carefully. Too excited.
THREE!!
In one legislative session, One-Term Bob has now racked up as many overridden vetoes as all previous governors since the Civil War.
Shipwreck!!

It goes to show just how out of step the Rats are with the people.

It goes to show just how out of step the Rats are with the people.Doesn't it, though?
I personally was also mystified when Holden vetoed concealed carry, since it would've made so much more sense for him even politically for him to just let it pass into law without his signature. That way he wouldn't have riled up anybody against him. Sure, some of his supporters would have been disappointed, but he could've just truthfully said (as did Senator Gibbons, who changed his vote to support the override), "Look, now or later, this is definitely going to pass -- and this is the most careful bill we're ever going to get."
Huge mistake politically, if you ask me, and all in support of ill-advised attempts at continuing gun control that has done nothing but disarm law-abiding potential victims.

How the heck did he get elected?
Oh, yah, now that I think about it, wasn't he the guy that beat Jim Talent by like 1/2% in 2000, due in large part to the illegal polling reopenings? Hahaha, Talent got the last laugh I guess. Not only does he get to be Senator, but the cheater gets to go down in history THIS way. Wow, that's great.

Can we say RECALL!
How about tossing ONE TERM bob out of office with a recall! Let's keep the abuse piling on him!
Way to go Missouri!

Looks like we've finally ended the post-Civil War jitters here in Missouri and we are going back to being what we were in the first place. A state of level headed folks who are not going to be pushed around by anyone with a title and a big ring of keys.
Missouri, never re-constructed and proud of it!

absolutely right...that election was stolen by the DNC and it's "rent-a-voter with ciggies" crowd in inner city St. Louis.

I actually don't want to lead a bash-fest here, as being Governor of any state is a tough job.
Unfortunately, Governor Holden, from all I've seen, has chosen to be very contrary in the way he has dealt with the affairs of our State, and with members of the legislature.
He also has made some choices that are not only unpopular, but flat-out wrong. And he's done so in a no-compromise, we'll-do-it-my-way kind of manner. The reason he's had 3 vetoes overridden is because he vetoed a bunch of things that never should have been vetoed.
And as far as the job he's done, unfortunately, I can't really think of anybody that I know who feels he has governed well and advanced the things that need to be advanced.
It is unfortunate. Maybe he wasn't adequately prepared for the job. Maybe he has had some bad advisors. I think the latter is almost certainly the case. But what can we as the people of Missouri do, but try to elect someone who will better serve our needs and interests next time?
To: Keith
Another fine example of what happens when an election is stolen. The people get governed by those who do not represent them.
At what point is the FBI going to start investigating this epidemic?
To: Constitutional Patriot
Have the Democrats said that overriding a veto is undemocratic?

Nothing to "figure out" except how to keep FRAUD out of the polling places.

Can we say RECALL! How about tossing ONE TERM bob out of office with a recall!I will say this, on the matter of recall: I have wished that we had a recall mechanism like California. Bob Holden does not seem to be good for our state.
