Gov. Gray Davis argued Wednesday that recalling him would make it harder for future state governors to make tough decisions for fear of facing a recall themselves.
He said he was wrong the time he told state legislators that their job was to

i watched this "town hall" with Governor Davis... and he said how important it is for him to come out and have these meetings with the "people."
This was orchestrated as Democrat after Democrat came up and tossed talking point softball questions to the governor to field... easy, scripted, questions.
A labor leader, a college student-government president, a teacher, a nurse, a firefighter... all asking articulate, obviously scripted questions with hardly a stutter, "er", "uh" or an "I mean" to be heard. It was Davis who flubbed a lot of the lines...
For example: "California is a diverse state with people from many planets..."

In the Big Dictionary of American Politics, "Incomparable Loser" is illustrated with a pen-and-ink of Gray Davis. WHAT a tool he is.

Once again liberals cling to the opposite of truth. Davis never made a hard decision. He took the easy way out every time, and displayed a breathtaking lack of knowledge about free markets, and supply and demand. Cally Fornians are now paying for this simpleton, and his follies.
If Davis survives this recall, Cally Fornia will become the lighthouse warning us all of the shallow thinking that awaits the Nation as a whole.

"I want to hear him talk; I've never heard him talk in person, and I have not been impressed with what I've seen on TV," said Jim Granucci, a 41-year-old
Republican criminal defense lawyer. He said
he supported the recall two months ago, but is "on the fence right now, because I don't know at this point if there's somebody that's better than Gray Davis."
