Interesting. Once in a while I stumble on a word when written that way.

There are other factors at play.
I read between 50 and 75 books a year, and part of the fun of reading for me is finding the typos and homonym errors in both fiction and non-fiction.

It's like hitting a brick wall.

You think hitting a brick wall is "fun"? ;-)

This should be, "...wouthit a porbelm."

Actually, either "read it without problem" or "read it without a problem" is correct.

Of course, we could all simply be getting "trained" to compensate for the piss-poor spelling and grammar that pervades the web......

What will this mean for ebonics?

I'm sure Sheila Jackson-Lee will believe this Cambridge University study to be a white racist ploy aimed at erradicating the African-American influence on the English language.

Or the way spelling used to be before the development of the dictionary.

Thanks for this serious response. You could teach a young child to "recognize' the words as they are spelled in the original post. Problem is that he would not "know" what the word was IF it was later spelled correctly.

Did the author of the original post understand that?
