The Zionist Organization of America of Connecticut College will be sponsoring Dr. Yossi Olmert at Connecticut College on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7PM. This will be held in Ernst Common Room located in Blaustein Humanities Center (which is the building on the left of the library when you face the library). The topic will be “Israel and the USA Fight Terror: Mutual target, Mutual enemy.” This event is in association with the Anti-Defamation League’s Laurel Vlock Campus Lecture Series and the Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut.

Dr. Yossi Olmert is an authority on Israeli Politics, the Arab-Israeli Conflict and Radical Islam. He has taught extensively on these subjects while a Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University and guest lecturer abroad. Dr. Olmert served in past Israeli Governments as Director of the Government Press Office and Advisor to Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and later as Policy Advisor to Defense Minister Moshe Arens under Prime Minister Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu. Dr. Olmert is widely recognized in Israel for his work as a political columnist in Israel's leading newspaper Yediot Aharanot and the English daily Jerusalem Post and a frequent guest on political talk shows. Additionally, Dr. Olmert works as a policy and press consultant and is a professor of security studies at the college system of Bar-Ilan University.

The Zionist Organization of America, founded in 1897, is the oldest pro-Israel organization in the United States. The ZOA works to strengthen U.S.-Israel relations, educates the American public and Congress about the dangers that Israel faces, and combats anti-Israel bias in the media and on college campuses.
