This was a ritual weekly in Washington and this is the scene that ensued.

Reporter: General Clark, do you have a moment to stop at the stakeout cameras?

Clark: Is it okay if I don't?

Reporter: When you're on the Sunday shows, there is an understanding that there is a stake out camera outside every place you're at.

Clark: Can I make a quick call?

Reporter: Sure.

Clark: Gail, there is a stakeout camera here as I'm leaving NBC and they want me to answer questions. No? No questions. Okay, okay, got it.

Hume: Well, there you go. Decisive figure ...

He might have been in Clinton's camp, but I don't think a man becomes SACEUR without the career to back it up.
This guy is a serious threat in the upcoming election, and all we're doing is engaging in personal attacks? This isn't the way to defend our president, folks. People can see through partisan remarks. We need to look at this guy's policies and positions, and show people where he is out of touch with the American people.

I was sickened by the mudslinging and lies the RATS spewed out in the last two elections. We have the most popular president in modern history sitting in the Oval Office right now. Let's elevate the discourse and make this election a mandate!

A general doesn't become POTUS without the career to back it up, and Clark doesn't have it. I've mentioned this on other threads: Clark is an unknown outside of DC. The press and the flacks don't understand this, because they do know him. The public will tolerate an unknown with a proven political track record (see: Clinton, Slick). They won't throw a general who commanded essentially an air raid on Kosovo into the White House.
