A former rape counsellor has been given a life sentence for a series of rapes.
Dr Shaun Farrell, a former university lecturer, raped one of his students three times and then struck again while on police bail.
He subjected his former student to an horrific 24-hour ordeal in November last year after she ended their three-year relationship.
Ginger-haired Farrell, 39, then raped a 19-year-old holidaymaker on the day he was due in court for the first set of charges.
The former psychology tutor at Christ Church University College in Canterbury, Kent, was told he would serve 11 years for each of the three rape counts against his first victim, to run concurrently, and seven years for the attack on the second woman.
Farrell, of Watchet, Somerset, had initially denied raping his first victim, now 23, but while out on bail attacked the tourist as she strolled along a beach last June.
Sentencing Farrell at Reading Crown Court, Judge Stanley Spence said: "These offences are so serious that only a life sentence can be justified.
"In my view you are likely to be a danger to other women."

His actions are as stupidly insane as, say a politician, raping someone right before he was due to be elected Attorney General of a small southern state.
Someone with such a reckless disregard for consequences is sure to remain a great danger to women in the future.

Did this bother anybody else? Not that he's ginger-haired of course...but the fact that the reporter found it relevant? Imagine a news story that said "the raven-haired Andrea Yates then drowned her baby."
And yeah, I do know he doesn't even have that much hair.
