Dammit, stop cleaning and picking up my place.

Leave the beer alone. And leave the pizza on the coffee table.

Put the leftover Chinese food back in the frig. It's for breakfast tomorrow.

Get out, Get out Get out!!

I call it "twigging my Gaydar"
There is something about *most* homosexual men which is readily observed but difficult to define. I like your description of it - it works.

Pram -- your post #17 -- excellent! Thanks for helping to identify, in words, things that tend to escape them. Well done.

I remember reading that a cultural anthropologist concluded that primitivie cultures where children are routinely sexualized, and where sex between males is accepted and "normal" even for men who are married with wives and kids, those cultures never really advanced much BECAUSE of the pettiness that the men engaged in. In other words, the various relationships between the men created jealousies and a kind of cattiness that prevented them from advancing as a society.

Personally, I think the widespread acceptance of homosexuality is one of the biggest threats to our civilization and culture today. Homosexuality has been around forever, and probably always will be -- it's the acceptance of it that creates the problems. It has cultural consequences that are not obvious, so most people think, "What's the harm in it?" Very, very dangerous.

I have become adept at picking them out....same here!

As a banquet director at a major hotel, many of my best servers were gay, I arranged Gay Bash parties for over 300, so I have managed to pick them out instantly.

Three in the entertainment world, who most would never guess are GAY, The Presidents new press secretary (can't think of his name), Quarterback for the 49ers Garcia, and newsman for Fox News, can't think of his name either, but, he does those 15 second spots. If you don't belive me, watch their moves and mouth for awhile, if you don't see it your blind.

I could help you with the wine (!)--but I'm the worst person to try to decorate. That's one thing I love about women. They can just make a place beautiful--flowers or some color I would never have expected. My wife gives me skin and grooming products, and I love the way she decorates our house. One thing I've learned is that if I tell her some idea I have (like, "I like this particular picture," or, "This room looks too cluttered or something," or, "I really like this piece of furniture; where could we put it?") she will take the idea and develop it into something I like.

Why don't you contact the people on the program and volunteer for a makeover?

One thing I've noticed. There's a makeover program from England, but I don't think the women take into account properly the person's wishes and life activities; it's more like a rubber stamp of the ideas of those doing the makeover. The men on Queer Eye seem to try to think what would really work for the man being madeover. And they seem nice about it, whereas the English women seem unnecessarily critical, maybe even disdainful.

I know where your husband's coming from, Pram. My wife can't understand why I don't care if my teeshirst are wrinkled or I don't wear something presentable to the gym. I also tend to wear socks that are becoming threadbare. I shave and shower regularly every morning, but when my wife's out of town--I don't shave; I don't bathe; I don't make the bed--I like being a slob. But before she comes home, I clean up the house--and myself; I don't want something as beautiful as she is to be in slobville.

As far as friends go, I like men's white tie and black tie events, but it's also fun being with men when they're into slobhood just like I am--at the gym, working on some project, doing outdoor stuff, etc.

men = bears with furniture.

I am starting to see a nice lady. I have yet to have her over. I have told her why - the house is a mess, and I want to see what level of cleanliness I need to achieve to avoid scaring her off. She thinks this is actually kinda charming.

She might like to help you fix the place up. Ask her advice.

No, she won't. She'll run screaming out of there!

If you need to get the place clean, hire a professional house cleaner - they'll do all the backbreaking work - the floors, kitchen, bathroom, etc. My cleaning person charges $15/hour. 2-1/2 hrs every two weeks or so, and the place sparkles again. (That's only to MAINTAIN. If a place is really bad, it may take several hours initially.)

All YOU have to do is get rid of the clutter. Put all your papers & bills into trash bags or boxes - then put them in the closet, under the bed, or somewhere. Even a stack of boxes doesn't look as bad as loose clutter everywhere.

When Britney Spears and Madonna gave each other an open-mouthed kiss on the MTV awards show, it underscored just how fashionable homosexual behavior has become among young people, even among those who are not homosexual.

As a teen myself, and hearing these acts are talked about daily, I feel my christian faith sway. I ask that all freeper christians pray for change in our society.

yes, but what to do with all the guns, the armor, the blades, the clay sculptures, the books (I ran out of shelf-space ages ago), the machine tools, the measuring implements, etc...?

I do wash my dishes.
I do throw away my trash.
I do take out the garbage.
I do wash my clothes.
I do sweep the floors and vacuum... occasionally
I do mop... once in a blue moon.
It ain't all that bad, just distinctly "manly".

huh? what?
dusting? ah... no.
steamclean the carpets? huh?
wash the windows? yer kiddin, right?

A womanly woman is attracted to a manly man. Plus, a *slightly* disheveled living arrangement may bring out a bit of maternal instinct, which in small quantity is necessary in a permanent committed relationship.

You're bringing up an important point. "Birds of a feather flock together" - there's a (Bengali) saying that if you hang out with theives, you become a thief, and if you hang out with saints, you become a saint. Everyone is affected by who they associate with, what they read and hear, watch on TV, etc. The mind is like a tape player, so whatever you put in it, it records, and plays back later! That's why it's very important - if a person has values they want to live up to, to respect yourself and not put trash in it. Or you find yourself viewing stuff you put in your mind a long time ago, that you'd rather not see again.

I hope she doesn't see you as a "project" though! Diamond in the rough, and she doesn't mind the rough, is best!
