I put a large block of ice in a bowl with some water and the water level never increased after the ice melted.

I am going to tell demorats to do this and see it for themselves.

Probably won’t prove nothing to them though.

Archimedes would be proud of you. If you get a little evaporation, you can even prove that melting sea ice will cause ocean levels to fall!
