Jesse Ventura is very much against the recall on the grounds it is being misused. He certainly is no Davis supporter. he also does not want to support Arnold for this reason. Ventura also hates the GOP as much as the RATS.

A lot of the people opposed to the recall oppose it because they have already paid off Davis and don't want to have to pay off a new governor.

Bruce Willis didn't really save all those people at the Nakatomi towers.

That was a character he played.

The real Bruce Willis supported Gray Davis and publicly put himself against the recall.

However you paint it, his stock just dropped dramatically IMO.

I was for McClintock.
Then hi numbers languished.
He took money from foreign nations.

Then I went to Ahnold.
Conservative Fiscalality “r” after his name maybe Calif can be with Bush in 06.

I see McClintock will stay the course ala Perot.

Now I am voting for no recall.
To keep Bustamente from implementing Mecha (again I am against foreign nation influence)

I have a question.

Driving down the road with your family a drunk illegal alien is driving on the wrong side of the road threatening your family’s safety.

Do you pull over or play chicken cause your right and the drunk illegal alien is legally and morally wrong?

Maybe Darrell Issa inspired Willis to oppose the recall?

Many Conservatives think Davis should win this because the people of California should not get a "do-over". They voted for him and now need to live with their mistake for the next 4 years.

I believe this is a reasonable and defensible position.

Why shouldn't they get a "do over", as you call it ? They put it into their laws decades ago that they could do it. They have the perfect right to.

Yes, they do have the right.

However, I for one would like them to feel the pain of electing liberals to every statewide office for a good long while.

One other thing. Anyone who thinks changing the governor is going to instantly fix the mess in California is a fool. The liberal whack jobs in the State Congress are the biggest problem although Davis certainly contributed to the problem.

So another pretty good, in my opinion, reason to oppose the recall is that a Republican Governor will have to make unpopular decisions over the next 4 years and in so doing, becomes a convenient scape goat for the problems. The people in the state will forget it was liberal Democrats who caused the mess and Californians will continue to vote liberals into office.

Willis has always struck me as a smart guy. It is quite possible he is against the recall for these legitimate reasons.

That, in a nutshell, is the best synopsis I have heard on the true effect of the recall. It is symbolic at best.

You should vote yes on recall no matter what.

It damages the dems to have Davis removed.

Bustamante winning mitigates this damage but only slightly.

Recalling Davis is much more important than who wins and takes his place in finally making in roads to end the Democrat monopoly on power in CA.

I am not scared of Bustamante. We are recalling Davis and if Bustamante wins we will deal with him as well so that he will be ineffective and powerless. We are on offense. Don't get scared now.

Yes.

That is why electing Schwarzenegger or McClintock is not as important as recalling Davis.

The recall is the key to harming the dems.

Even a Bustamante win does not compensate for that serious blow.

I thought Bruce was a conservative.

That's my point. I think he is more conservative (or less liberal) than most of the Hollywood elite. But people project too much on any celebrity who isn't a total left wing anti-American whacko.

I'm worried he'll run as a Republican next.
