last night on Hannity and Colmes, Chuck Norris endorsed both the recall and Auhnold.

Darn, I missed that. FOX really has some superb current event andpolitical programming in the evening. It's no wonder CNN has become a has been.

That's right . . . and besides, they don't play golf at CNN.

Yes, Willis obviously means it when he says he "supports the troops". But actions speak louder than words. There are plenty of folks out there who say they "support the troops" because if they didn't, they'd be drawn and quartered. Willis has proven he's sincere, but I saw 10 monkeys on stage last night who could swear on the Bible that they "supported the troops", and I'd be jumping to not get hit by the lightning bolt that was on the way. Just because someone says they "support the troops" doesn't mean they do. But then again, Willis obviously does.

That said, I'm greatly disappointed in him. He's been my favorite tough guy actor for a long time now...but I guess that's gonna change.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Really, now that's downright despicable.

I agree. Actions speak louder than words.

i supposrt our troops, and i am active doing that, although usually in samll ways, with our school, our 4-H group and staying in touch with family and friens who are in, or who have someone who is. I also spread information.

I see Willis doing things for our guys.

He's not just "talking the talk", unlike so many, who think all you have to do is display a flag or wear a lapel pin. , (bringing to mind some of our elected officials! ) Bruce is doing stuff.

So me? I'm not gonna write the guy off. He cares about people I love and acts on it.

FReegards,

Tia

I always thought of Bruce Willis as some sort of half-liberal, half-libertarian type who sometimes likes to be seen with Republicans and Conservatives like Schwartzenegger and Limbaugh.

I have an older relative in California who is a big Republican, but he's against the recall, too, just on grounds that it's a bad precedent. As much I love the idea of ditching Gray Davis (and how could anyone have been stupid enough to elect him in the first place, let alone reelect him?), I can kind of see his point. It has emboldened all sorts of idiots to try to recall everybody.

The idiocy ranges from Democrats trying to recall President Bush to supporters of our unlamented former Dallas police chief, Terrell Bolton, passing around petitions to try to recall our mayor, Laura Miller, for firing his worthless butt. After all, all he's done is preside over botched arrests and firings that have cost us millions in lawsuits and made us a laughing stock, allowed our crime rate to reach #1 in the nation, and arrogantly refused even to meet with his superiors to discuss it. Then when he was finally fired, he spent the past month on TV, crying like a little girl with a bee sting, which I'm sure filled the criminal element with fear and respect for our police department. Any white man with his record would've been on the unemployment line ages ago. But his supporters claim he was only fired because he's black, so now they're trying to recall the mayor.

That is definitely a bad side effect of the California recall: it is encouraging morons to make even bigger public fools and nuisances of themselves than they already were.

It could be personal - weren't he and Arnie and Stallone? all partners in the "Planet Hollywood" venture?
