Word For The Day
Monday, September 29, 2003 | Slip 18

Posted on 09/29/2003 7:20:58 AM PDT by Slip18

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip is watching you. She has a large telescope with her today. She will be yanking you out of class and into the Janitor’s closet if you are evil, and then maybe sending you off to the Principal’s office to refresh your memory on the usage of his learning stick. And, yes, the paddle has those wondrous holes in them.

flatulence noun:
Pronunciation: flat’u-lens Etymology: Flatus – Latin “ a blowing”

Excessive gas in the stomach and intestines.

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!

Now, Vast and xsmommy, play nicely in here today with all the other students! Flurry, you behave yourself, otherwise Nurse Helga will take care of your flatulence in a not so nice way.

I heard Principal Robinson is roaming the halls today, so all of you students be on your best behavior.

You must use the WFTD in a sentence for an A. For a + after your “A,” you must bring in a link of the word usage or something funny, a poem or some prose that will elucidate the word for us.

If you need to know how to link, come to the Subbie’s desk in the front of the class.

The Texans have a better chance than the Browns this year, they lost to the Cincinatti Bengals of all teams.

Could be worse....could be the Lions. We haven't won a road game in three years.

Those jagoffs at the feds are at it again......

It's already. I'm within walking distance from downtown and three pubs. If I want to tip more than 3 or 4(If spread out) back, I can walk. :)

Afternoon Miss Slippy, Ma'am. Here my excuse:

Dear Teacher,

Dixie had to go to the doctor today and that is why she is late.

Thank you,
Dixie

The Browns can win road games it's home games that they lose consistently and for years.

Speaking of Jets, did you guys hear that the Cowboys have petitioned the NFL to change the venue of their game against that New England Patriots to the Meadowlands since Parcells has had such success against his former teams there this year?

Your mommy didn't sing her excuse note

Excuse notes have to be SUNG now? What tune should we use? Can we use an accompaniment tape or karoake or should we sing the note acapella?

Flurry, your assistance (and rich baritone voice) might be needed.
