Go read Pipes' Weblog -- left side, second item down -- he's already read the entire affidavit on Alamoudie and picked out a few details to highlight.

I agree, this is not yet getting the coverage it deserves. But there are a lot of convoluted things emerging all at once.

I believe this article is in error describing Alamoudi as a Saudi. The Saudi Brothers who founded SAAR are the wealthy scions...

At least all the reports agree that the guy is in custody, no matter how his name is spelled.

Convenient isn't it?

Thanks for the Daniel Pipes info. Didn't know he had a blog and have picked up only from the Middle East Forum. Interesting that he has his doubts about coverage of this, too. Interesting thing in looking for his blog address...Daniel Pipes + weblog on Google gets you a bunch of Edward Said material and derrogatory info on Pipes.
Pipes Blog address (and I had to look for it :)):

You are correct in stating al Amoudi is NOT Saudi. He is a U.S. national of Yemeni origin. Collecting info on him is proving interesting. Found this Arab News release on his arrest:
