[history]
The American Muslim leader charged with smuggling $340,000 out of Libya was suspected of funneling cash from Osama bin Laden to blind Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman in the failed 1993 attempt to blow up New York City landmarks, The Post has learned.

Al Arian (the dude who was just arrested) and Al Alwani are connected at the hip. Al-Awani's attorney is Nancy Luque.
She is/was also the attorney for Maria Hsia (Ron Brown's aid), HUGH RODHAM, and a whole bunch of Clinton scandal people. She's worth looking at and also watching to see if she has any role in any of these captures.

Thanks for your additional input, seamole.
Investigators tried to prove Amoudi was a terror middleman but could not find "smoking gun" evidence.
That allowed Amoudi to became a politically connected Muslim activist and co-founder of the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veteran Affairs Council, which helps the U.S. military select Muslim chaplains.
Now we know. We won't have to wait decades for someone to investigate and write "Treason 2".
If you want on or off my Pro-Coalition ping list, please Freepmail me. Warning: it is a high volume ping list on good days. (Most days are good days).

There is another scenario here. It has long been a goal of our enemies to destablilize our economy. This money may be counterfeit.

"I agree, this is not yet getting the coverage it deserves. But there are .........a lot of convoluted things emerging all at once."
Convenient isn't it?
Thanks for the Daniel Pipes info. Didn't know he had a blog and have picked up only from the Middle East Forum. Interesting that he has his doubts about coverage of this, too. Interesting thing in looking for his blog address...Daniel Pipes + weblog on Google gets you a bunch of Edward Said material and derrogatory info on Pipes.
Pipes Blog address (and I had to look for it :)):
http://www.danielpipes.org/ You are correct in stating al Amoudi is NOT Saudi. He is a U.S. national of Yemeni origin. Collecting info on him is proving interesting. Found this Arab News release on his arrest:

I think so too! In fact, yesterday I asked the question, what are the 'rats and media trying to bury in the news? Looks like this could be it, or perhaps at least one of the reasons.

RC, thanks for the ping, very ping-worthy indeed! Seamole and all the other researchers--great work. Wish we could see analysis just half this good on the television news. Not even Fox manages to do as well as Freepers!

"I agree and think the Wilson bit is just a diversion to keep Hillary's connection with this al-Arian group "quiet"."
And isn't it interesting that she's the only dem that's been quiet!
You refer to al-Arian....Sami al-Arian is our infamous Tampa terrorist computer engineering professor that our University of South Florida president, Judy Genshaft, had the guts to fire. He was arrested and is still being held. Al-Arian is associated with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. I have lost track of who al-Awani is. Too many Al whatevers........Al Gore..:)
The people you mention in connection to Nancy Luque are VERY interesting. Should be fun looking around.

"Do we know for sure if the story of his Ethiopian birth is a confusion with the other al-Amoudi?"
Yemeni is all I've found so far. Will continue to look and will post if anything different is found.

Oh my gosh, seamole, EXACTLY RIGHT!
Osama Bin Laden Money Paid For Anti-War Marches, Hillary Clinton, Cynthia McKinney campaigns Bin Laden pays the American Muslim Council.
American Muslim Council co-sponsors march on Washington.
AMC gives money to McKinney on 9/11/2001, Hillary! campaign for Senate in 2000.
Bin Laden pays AMC to pay Blind Sheikh Rahman, whose lawyers were ANSWER founder Ramsey Clark and Lynne Stewart.

Is there a photo of Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi available? I couldn't find one anywhere.Good question; all I've seen on TV is a blurry frame of Alamoudi from a poor quality film of the infamous Pali rally in DC in 2000.
Steven Emerson credits the film to "a videotape by an individual participating in the rally."
The media obviously wasn't interested, and Alamoudi, for all his influence, seems to be camera-shy. Interesting.

I agree and think the Wilson bit is just a diversion to keep Hillary's connection with this al-Arian group "quiet". I'm in this camp too. It will be interesting to see how rapidly the Wilson-wife outing scandal dies down, once this Al-Amoudi thing is old news.
Isn't this the guy who gave $50K to hitlery's senate campaign? She can't have that blasted all over the headlines.
