Yesterday, reports in the Nat'l Post and Wash Times said he was an Ethiopian-born American.

Maybe the NYPost is confusing Alamoudi with the Saudi SAAR brothers...

This story is not getting through the media frenzy created by the Wilson-Novak 'scandal'...... not sure it would be properly covered if it were the only game in town.

Bill O'Reilly had a segment that pictured al Amoudi, mentioned his arrest and went straight to Daniel Pipes to talk about the chaplain, two translators at Gitmo and militant Islam. Al Amoudi wasn't mentioned again.

Go read Pipes' Weblog -- left side, second item down -- he's already read the entire affidavit on Alamoudie and picked out a few details to highlight.

I agree, this is not yet getting the coverage it deserves. But there are a lot of convoluted things emerging all at once.

I believe this article is in error describing Alamoudi as a Saudi. The Saudi Brothers who founded SAAR are the wealthy scions...

At least all the reports agree that the guy is in custody, no matter how his name is spelled.

On Aug. 11, Amoudi was stopped in England at Heathrow Airport with 34 bundles of sequentially numbered $100 bills in his suitcase as he prepared to fly to Syria.

He said he received the money from Libyan officials to try to win release of Libyan assets frozen after the 1988 Pan Am bombing.

He was paying for something........what I don't know.....but I'll bet there is an operation in the works.

I agree and think the Wilson bit is just a diversion to keep Hillary's connection with this al-Arian group "quiet".
