Wonder if the headline got yanked? I mean, if you came across it you would continue to see it after it was yanked unless you hit "refresh."

And, if it was yanked, that would really be interesting.

WTF is going on?

Pete

Thanks for the great catch. After reading your post, I was able to capture the story also, (see post #23), so I can verify that indeed Dow Jones did have this posted at 19:22.

The DJ site breaking news posts fall off as more recent news articles appear.

Dow Jones is usually reliable. Maybe this "leak" and unname source will pan out.

I've had FNC on all day, granted in the background while I've been concentrating on my work, but I've heard not a peep.

This should be more important than the liar, Joe Wilson, and his trumped-up story. We'll see if we hear anything from tonight's talking heads about this.

I personally saw the same story on the Dow Jones Website. Then I went to see it again (so I could send it to a friend) and it ain't there.

Very curious.

I have a Scottrade account which includes access to the Dow Jones Newswire. I just checked and the story is still showing up when I go back through the history. Now, I can't link to it without revealing URL that would allow anyone to access by account. I am continuing to look for the story in a linkable source.

If you do a search for Al-Siyassah you will find plenty of articles with them as the source. The are often referred to as being as "the pro-government newspaper Al-Siyassah," though aparently they were once suspended from publication for a period of 5 days because the quoted a Mullah who was critical of the Emir giving women the right to vote.

Back in June they published a story that stated that Bush and Blair would be visiting Kuwait on June 3rd to thank the Kuwaitis, before any such trip was announced by Bush or Blair. As it turns out a trip was planned for that date but was cancelled at the last minute do to "sercurity concerns."
So there you have it.

Potential HUGE time ping, Arrow. Thanks!

I leave for a few hours. Do you sometimes think God has a sense of humor? (^;

On the eve of the Kay report...who knows.

Late to the party (take the yellow cake and go sit down, Sen. Schumer), ping!

 Thanks, Tonkin!

If you want on or off my Pro-Coalition ping list, please Freepmail me. Warning: it is a high volume ping list on good days. (Most days are good days).

Kuwait foils smuggling of chemicals, bio warheads from Iraq
Associated Press
Kuwait City, October 2

Kuwaiti security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle $60 million worth of chemical weapons and biological warheads from Iraq to an unnamed European country, a Kuwaiti newspaper said on Wednesday.
The pro-Government Al-Siyassah, quoting an unnamed security source, said the suspects had been watched by security since they arrived in Kuwait and were arrested "in due time." It did not say when or how the smugglers entered Kuwait or when they were arrested.

The paper said the smugglers might have had accomplices inside Kuwait. It said Interior Minister Sheik Nawwaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah would hand over the smuggled weapons to an FBI agent at a news conference, but did not say when.

Government officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

Iraqi Interior Minister Nouri Al-Badran met on Tuesday with Sheik Nawwaf and discussed cooperation between the two countries in security matters. His visit is the first by an Iraqi interior minister to Kuwait since 1990.
