If I remember correctly, that last picture was taken from a scenic tourist spot just above the Gap. How close am I?

Right on the money, a great spot for a picnic. There's even some tables/benches set up for that purpose, or were last time I was out that way.

Pretty country. And I understand the railroad is going to get new tracks to link up with Portland, ME, which will make the place even more visitor accessable.

The limpertarians don't win jack. If you read my other posts you'd see that I suggest they join the GOP and work to change it from within. Instead, the limps "run and hide" with their toys because not everyone agrees with them. Have fun when you move to NH. If you limps were somehow able to pull off a US Senate victory (the biggest miracle of miracles), I'm sure your limp would be the "1" in those 99 - 1 votes. Very useful.

Uh huh, and when John Ashcroft actually prosecutes Lon Horiouchi, or fires the Elian raiders, or prosecutes the doofus that shot off that Eagle Scout's face, or can find his ass with both hands and a flashlight, and the Republicans otherwise stop behaving like The Stupid Party, I'd agree with you. But they don't.

And who's afraid of a little Real Federalism?

Is this group a limited government libertarian group, or an 'I want free drugs' libertarian group?

Check out the FSP's Links page.

Looks like mish-mash that includes drug legalization (of course), along with some RKBA links, Gay/Lesbian groups, anti-tax/militia groups, and so on.

You've obviously missed my points. If the limps would infiltrate (for the lack of a better word) the GOP and work to change it from within, they'd be more successful in the long run by changing minds of Republicans rather than working to defeat them.

Why work with people who have opposite goals as us? Republicans are not the part of limited government, Constitutional rights, self-reliance, and personal liberty. Maybe in NH they are slightly better than the rest of the country, but everywhere you turn, the GOP = "the stupid party", always moving left to keep up with the Dems.

We will probably form a coalition with Republicans in NH, but any alliances formed will force the GOP to move towards the right, unlike their usual slide to the left.

Just because you are a defeatist GOP hack doesn't mean that the rest of us are. Keep blabbing, bub, but we are gonna work towards liberty, if the GOP wants to join us, more power to them.

How does the saying go? "I never left the GOP, the GOP left me"...

Exactly my point and that is a good plan. I suggest the GOP because they are closer to your views than the demonrats. I live down in Texas near your 1988 hero Ron Paul. He did the right thing by staying away from a nowhere party and getting in the GOP where his views are given more credence.

The bottom line is that the GOP is not a conservative party anymore. Here in New York we have Republicans to thank for stupidly high taxes, the strongest gun bans in the nation, an overreaching nanny state gov, some of the harshest drug laws in the nation (that take power away from elected judges) and too much more to think about.

Thanks, Republicans.

The sooner the true conservatives split from the GOP, the better. That party is too polluted by socialist-lite ideology. Republicans have 2 branches of government, and still the government grows bigger faster, while liberty is lost more and more.

There are plenty of Republicans who care about the Constitution, it's rule of law, and liberty. However, they have been stifled by these moderate socialists who control the party. It's time they stopped enabling them. Maybe the Democrats will win the White House once again while true conservatives bond together.

Recent history has shown us that Congressional Republicans work towards liberty and conservative issues a little bit harder when they are the minority party.

Tell you what, if you think the FSP is such a joke, just stay down there in Texas. Don't worry about us. But I have a feeling our hard work will pay off, and NH can be seen as a model State for liberty and conservative ideology at work without all the nanny state nonsense that goes along with the ever increasing turn towards American socialism that is gaining ground in both major parties.

Well then, you should support the FSP because, just like with issues of federalism, party politics could best be influenced one state at a time. Success in New Hampshire would create a template that could be used in larger states.

Yes. We did that. The RLC and Ron Paul.

You don't turn the tide with a tea spoon. You build a dam.

Consider yourself damned.

"Conservatives" don't even have influence in the Republican Party. And you think libertarians should try to change the GOP from within?

You are missing the point entirely here, anyway. This is not about any political party. The establishment has convinced the sheeple that we have a "Two Party System". These people are tired of playing the political game. They are making an end run around the establishment. And as far as being outvoted in Congress by the rest of the country, there is always the seccessionist card to play!
