You posted the article. Don't hide, c'mon out and defend your criticism of it.
Was it the CA GOP or the National GOP who didn't want the recall and instead wanted to leave California republicans in the hands of Davis so that Boxer could be tied to Davis.
If it was good enough for the GOP, what's the problem with this article? How is it different from what the GOP wanted?
I mean, you are a GOPer, right? ;-)

"Tom is actually giving the democrats at least a 20% of the vote handicap. " You are absolutely right. I haven't heard it put this way, but this indeed is what is happening.

I don't even need to comment -- just read this: A frustrated Bill Simon volunteer from last year's campaign writes me "outraged" at the "outrage" expressed by conservative talk-show hosts who harp on McClintock's intransigence. Where were these talk-show hosts, the 2002 Simon campaign operative asks, when "moderates sat on their hands"? Had the party united behind Simon, he argues, Simon would have won "even with all our mistakes." Did you ever see Congressman David Dreier, he asks, "admonishing everyone to unite behind Bill"? LINK

Was it the CA GOP or the National GOP who didn't want the recall and instead wanted to leave California republicans in the hands of Davis so that Boxer could be tied to Davis. Why would that have been a bad thing? AS can't do much and McClintock has a 20 year history of doing nothing but talking a good game.
I'm reminded of the Lott vs. Frist days. Frist has gotten us where exactly? No further than Lott as far as I can tell, yet Lott stepping aside gave a shallow victory to the opposition.
Personally speaking, I don't think The Governator is right for the job, yet he's far better than davis, given that the state of CA is no where near ready for Tom.
I thank my lucky stars that I got out of that state when I did.

P.S. You are akin to Davis trying to get Arnold to debate him. Arnold knows better and so do I.
To: FairOpinion
The most inane rant I have read in a long time. Not one coherent point in the whole thing, just a lot of pointless opinion presented as facts. Kind of like a right-wing Maureen Dowd.

Err, yes, Dreier did, just like everyone else in the GOP when Simon won the nomination. Come on, Sabertooth, there wasn't a conservative talk show host who supported Davis over Bill, nor Camejo over Bill.

Mr. Reagan knew that if you don`t win, you can`t rule.Yeah, and Reagan made compromises. I've heard all that. Thing is, Reagan brought things to the table to compromise with. And it's hard to say his compromises turned out for the best if the government spent more in programs than it received in (even increased) revenue.
Arnold has more in common with this opponents than he does with his base. What's he going to barter with and how's he going to come out ahead?

This is really sub-par material. It looks like one of the more poorly written vanities on our forum.

The point is, there were plenty of Republicans who didn't care if Simon won. Gerry Parsky, for one. I thought Simon was a crappy candidate, but I voted for him.

People can read this thread and decide what value to give to your posts.
There was no personal attack in my question to you, there was no rant, no rave, and no name calling. A question presented to you based on a post you initiated with a criticism by you of the author, and now you feel you don't have to defend your position.
You are correct. You're just like Arnold.
Voters should keep it in mind.

"It sure as hell isn't a virtue either. When principle turns into self-destructive behavior it is time to question the judgment, if not the motive, of those exhibiting that behavior."I have to say I agree with you on this point.

You didn't sign a pledge not to murder anyone. I suppose that means you will.
