THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
Rush Limbaugh's week went from bad to worse today. His name has surfaced in a drug investigation in Florida. According to law enforcement sources, he allegedly bought large amounts of prescription painkillers illegally. This after he quit under pressure as host of ESPN's Sunday NFL countdown for his racially charged remarks.

Franken - "You know, in my book Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot" This seems to confirm my theory that O'Reilly and Limbaugh are actually the same person.

Pfft. Maybe this is worth pointing out:
CNN has been deprogrammed from my TV
It's been this way for about a week and will stay so indefinitely. Many modern TV's have channel auto-skip and mine jumps right over CNN and CNN Headline News. Bad for CNN and bad for their advertisers. I suggest everyone here do the same.

It figures CNN would invite Rush Limbaugh's worst enemy on the planet to talk about this issue. Yes, I'm not really surprised at all by this. They found the person who could spew the most hate-filled venom towards Rush. Naturally, that would be Al Franken.

If there is a drug problem, do you think it possibly could have stemmed from the medication he took during this very difficult time of his life?
What makes Franken qualified to answer on CNN these sorts of questions about Rush? Sheesh! Looks to me like they found Franken 'to speculate' -- and they already knew in advance just how Franken was going to respond. BIAS!

That makes Rush a Clinton expert thenIf I were producing a TV news show purely on a new Bill Clinton scandal, I would not have Rush Limbaugh on at all, just like I would not have on Rahm Emanuel or James Carville.

I only read parts of your post...Franken is NOT a credible source for which I read for up-to-date news reports. Tomorrow, I will listen to Rush and hear what he has to say. If I want conservative insight, then I will listen or read a conservative commentator. The Left smells blood and lives on blood.

Fox Tops In Ratings For Seventh Straight Quarter
By CAROLINE WILBERT
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Four news networks --CNN, Headline News, MSNBC and CNBC -- lost viewership in the third quarter, but powerhouse Fox News picked up steam, according to Nielsen Media Research.
In the third quarter, Atlanta-based CNN attracted an average of 440,000 -- down 15 percent from the same period last year. Sister network Headline News attracted an average of 170,000, down 25 percent.
MSNBC drew an average of 203,000 viewers, a 19 percent slide. And CNBC got an average of 160,000, down 23 percent.
Meanwhile, Fox increased viewership 17 percent, attracting an average of 730,000 viewers.
This is the seventh straight quarter that Fox has won the news network ratings war.

You know, for as much hatred that flows between Al and Rush this was a pretty tame interview. I don't think Al was a good "expert" to have on the show, but he had some class with... Much more class than CNN had in bringing him as a guest anyway.

And in mine, Al Franken is a short, monkey-faced moron. Does that make me a Franken expert according to the Communist News Network? Not to defend Frankenstein, but the transcript was incorrectly punctuated. He was referring to his book, "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot". He wasn't using 'in my book' to mean 'in my opinion' (though obviously that IS his opinion).

This is the seventh straight quarter that Fox has won the news network ratings war. And this is precisely why the "tolerant", "free speech" crowd will strive to muzzle the opposition and to crush dissenting viewpoints at all costs. Their hidden motto: "Free speech and tolerance for me, not for thee".
To: Timesink
. I wasn't surprised by the racist comments he made on Sunday night. That's sort of par for the course. Right from the beginning he lies through his buck teeth. Rush's comments were not racist, nor are racist comments "par for the course", where Rush's views are concerned.

I also refuse to listen to their so-called hourly "news" broadcasts on my car and home radios -- including those broadcast by many conservative stations.
Happy to report I haven't missed their sorry tripe a bit.

I don't think Rush will be able to discuss the drug thing on his show....I think he will have a lawyer who won't let him. And if the rumor Dan Abrams was insinuating on his MSNBC show tonight is correct, that lawyer will be Roy Black.

The stories this week are a "blitzkrieg" by the Dims. Just the beginning. They attack GW, then Rush, then Arnold, then Rush, then Arnold. Then GW. They desperately want to derail the recall, mortally wound Rush (in time for the 2004 election season) and then go after GW tooth and claw(and, I hear, even fomenting violence ala the 1970's). Their IMO insurmountable problem is that most informed and intelligent people now understand that they have been, and are still, liars.

From CBS Sportsline
if ESPN is going to come down on Limbaugh for his comments -- you know his resignation was forced with a foot out the door -- they should watch closely what Bryan Cox says, too. Cox has said several times that Falcons linebacker Keith Brooking isn't nearly as good as people think and that the only reason he gets the props he does is because he's white. Isn't that the same thing Limbaugh said, yet nobody said a word? Both were wrong.
To: Tabi Katz
Frankin has the intellect of a sophomoric drunkard. Years of drug use have left far too much damaged brain tissue, IMO.
To: Middle Aged White Male
You're right...all Franken wanted to do is bring the issue back to "racism"...
Not to give him too much credit...I suspect that the ESPN story is all there really is to the story. The "drug ring" allegations seem to be just that..."allegations", based on "hear-say" from the housekeeper (who clearly was involved in some sort of drug-dealing), and her "evidence" obtained by "wiring" her own self, rather than having the FBI oversee and verify her "encounters" with Rush...

There have been many comments on various threads there implying that Rush could have been on pain pills because of his autoimmune inner ear disease. I question the unstated assumption that this disease causes pain! I don't recall Rush ever saying his condition was painful. I don't recall reading pain as a disease symptom in any of the stuff that came out either on his website or FR when that story was fresh and I tried to read all that stuff. I wouldn't expect the steroids and other immunosuppressive drugs he took for this to cause pain as a side effect. The implant shouldn't be very painful. It's not my branch of medicine, but I guess there might be some inflammation and edema from the attack on the cochlear hair cells, which in that closed space could produce pain, if the cochlea had pain nerve fibers. The outer and middle ear certainly have pain nerves, but I don't know about the inner ear. I'd guess that it, like the brain, doesn't. Are there any lurking Freeper ENT docs and can they confirm my hunch? If we can rule out pain from his ear disease than there is a big hole in the druggie story.
To: Timesink
What a perfect summary of my hatred for the left. First CNN invites Franken, which is sort of like inviting Al Gore to discuss a personal crisis facing Bush. Then, Franken, despite the opportunity to take the high road and maybe show himself to have the heart he claims the right lacks, piles on.
