I would like to take a moment to ask for donations.

It should be clear to all conservatives by now that the left intends to demonize us. They don't just disagree with us, they hate us. And worse, they want to get other people to hate us.

Places like Free Republic drive the left batty.

Please donate. Thanks for your consideration.

I'd be interested to know everyone's picks. Especially SoS and LG.

Why especially SoS and LG? I think Mitch Landrieu will win LG and Fox McKeithen will win SoS. Jindal & Blanco for the runoff with Jindal ahead this round..

Thanks for this Live Thread & link for election results. I am anxiously waiting to see how this turns out. My family voted for Jindal. I hope the polls are right and "undecided" doesn't throw us a curve.

Hey Johnny,

I was wondering when you were going to publish something about LA today. One thing: do you know what the chances are of the GOP making any pickups in the state legislative races?

(I like Jindal's chances, btw)

Just to clarify that my above predictions are . . . well, we'll see if they're any good or not. JackTom, if I turn out to be right and Jindal will lead the pack comfortably, we'd be better off throwing a few votes Leach's way as he would be the weakest Rat in the general election, and I assume that's what Bogey's referring to.

I don't think Terrell has done much campaigning for the attorney general's post to succeed Ieyoub. If she wins, it will be on the basis of name ID from the senatorial race last year. Foti is not too well known statewide. If Foti wins, it will be a repudiation of Terrell, more than a vote of confidence in Foti. That's how I see it.

Yea, but that kind of chicanery so often has unintended consequences. Besides, Ieyoub may be stronger than Leach: the two appear to be dividing blacks.

In 1970, some Republicans in TX went into the Democrat senatorial primary to vote for "sure loser" Lloyd Millard Bentsen, Jr. We know what Paul Harvey called "the rest of the story, and so does George Herbert Walker Bush.

I know that well over a third of the legislative races have NO Republican candidates in the mix.

Don't know about pickups per se. But 12 of the 39 State Senate races are unopposed and 45 of the 105 State Representative races are unopposed....
