In the US or the European sense of the word - I hope the latter since I do not like my country to be invaded by US troops bringing us freedom and peace. Wow, I don't know what country you are from, but I have yet to hear that from the local nationals from where I was stationed!! Sure, the American presence can be a burden to countries, but with out the US Armed Forces there, we would be having countries changing names at the drop of a hat i.e. Yugoslavia.
If you live in Europe, you should be thanking the US, now start paying tribute. If you live in asia and the middle east, do not come crying to us!

Very good points. If it was up to me, I would have gathered the European behind me to combat the real Moslem terrorism stemming from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, and Egypt. Our entanglement in Iraq was a misuse of our military, money, and prestige. The apologists would probably attack me saying that attacking Iraq is less risky than attacking the other countries mentioned. My answer would be do we really want to attack terrorism, or simply chase our tails with window dressing attack on Iraq? Saudi Arabia should not be allowed to spend Billions on propagating hate under the cover of Islam. Do you suppose the so called experts in Washington understand that?

A little too aggressive argumentation but that's what many people think about America.
BTW @ Ragtime Cowgirl: I don't like war and I believe that there'll always be another way. (but please don't believe, I'm manipulated by our German media - i don't read german newspapers. I'm gettin' my news out of the internet - worldwide)
I do declare that I don't like what mr. Bush does, but i am not entitled to condemn America as a country. Well, maybe I'll live there for about 10 years to find out that you are "easily riled up and manipulated"....

Terrorism can only be fought by fighting its foundations. And those are hatred. Fight the reasons for hatred Right. Appeasement. Rewarding terrorism will somehow make it go away. If you make terrorism profitable, you make it feasible for anyone with a complaint. And that will cause MORE terrorism.

Hi NonGerman,
You simply are making too much sense for this FreeRepublic board. People who are really interested in politics, and fighting the Islamic terrorists gravitate to this forum only to find puppeteers who are drumming their chest with pride that they defeated Saddam, and that is ALL what was needed to get rid of Islamic terrorism. It is beyond comprehension how day after day we read that Saudis financed ALL the Islamic fanatic movements, and Iran is enriching Uranium, and we are very happy that GWB is kicking ass in Iraq?
I love the anti-Islamic fanaticism, and terrorism posts on this board, but I still feel unwelcomed by the narrow minded bunch of this board.

May I mention that Saddam was financiated bye the USA?
And isn't it true that USA has trained Bin Laden?
These terrorist are - intensionally or not - products of America - aren't they?

That is correct. The US recruited Islamic fanatics from around the world, and provided them with a training camp in Afghanistan under the Carter, and Reagan administrations. We actually incited them to fight the Russians in the name Allah! The minute the Russians left, they turned their hate onto us, the Christian infidels. I rather if Russia has kept occupying Afghanistan. After all, it is simply a worthless country, any way.
