Not only is the "Yes" vote higher than Arnold's, so is Davis's vote.

More people apparently want to retain Davis as Governor than want to have Arnold as Governor.

You're looking at percentages, and turnout this election is much higher. Schwarzenegger will probably get a million more votes than Davis did last year.

But because Davis is not allowed to be a candidate to succeed himself, it doesn't mean anything.

Impeached Presidents can't succeed themselves either.

A recall is the equivalent of an Impeachment by the electorate. It's purpose is removal.

I stand by what I read on driver's licenses, but you do know that the massive swing against Davis was in your very own county don't you? If your county had provided Davis with the usual Dem pad, Davis would be running close by the time all the votes are counted. Arnold would still be trouncing Bustamante, since so many Dems without voting for a replacement, and some McClintock voters I suspect, voted no on the recall. This election will take some time for the ignorant to fathom it.

I think you are misreading the numbers. Arnold has consistently been ahead of Davis all night. As I write this (with 58.3% of the precincts reporting) there are 2,023,621 "No-on-recall" votes (to retain Davis) but 2,104,380 votes in favor of Schwarzenegger.

If Davis could haved beed listed as a candidate, he'd still be losing to Arnold.

Think about how many cars there are in my county.

Who wants to pay triple car tax on a Jag?

Ted Koppel and the ABC News crew all seem depressed, and the guests for a discussion coming up are Leon Paneta and David Gergen.

Probably time to go to sleep.

Maybe, but LA county is the big story in this election, along with the massive Dem refusal to vote for Bustamante while voting no on the recall. You heard it here first.

Gergen says California is for Arnold, what Iraq is for Bush

I really didn't know Ted was so biased, I thought maybe he was a little objective, but, just like the rest, he is a turd. I grew up with Arnold for the past 20 years- I lifted weights and he was on every gymn wall. My best friends would recite quotes from the Terminator and Commando.... I saw my first nudy seen on Conan the Barbarian.... How in the world does the media think that they are going to reduce what Arnold means to sooooooo many Americans... He makes everyone happy (except for the deranged) that is the truth.

No: I'm looking at up to date returns

At the moment:

No on recall is: 2, 373, 871 with 68% of precincts reporting

Arnie is at: 2, 320, 062

The margin has been wider. But Davis has been ahead of Arnie for quite awhile.
