If I left right now and jammed up the 5, I could be in Sac by 8pm. Imagine the party they're gonna have there tonight as the election returns begin to be processed.

The longer the certification process goes on, the bigger the crowd is going to get. Think what will happen this weekend if the SoS hasn't certified by close of business Friday.

The big question is: are the protest rallies going to be held in the Capitol park area, the Governor's office or Governor's mansion? (Or is that even still around since Moonbeam slept on his apartment floor?)

Don't take this wrong but why are people voting YES on Prop 53? Prop 53 mandates that 3% of the budget is spent on infrastructure projects. Why should it be mandated? It should be budgeted for by the legislature, not mandated. A mandate is just another item in the budget that can't be cut when cuts need to be made. Am I mistaken?

Because the legislature is currently spending less than 0.5% on infrastructure...I am tired of waiting for them to do the right thing. Normally, I am against "mandates", but the CA politicians (READ: Democrat) have a proven track record of not spending on vital road/water/bridge, etc. projects. Spending on infrastructure was about 20% under Pat Brown(D) and Ronald Reagan(R) in the 60's and 70's....(the Califirnia "Golden Years").

No lines, but a steady stream of folks going in and out of the local community center.

Cboldt: If each ballot represents a voter, then the default is "No," i.e., "NO" is counted even if the person does not punch the "NO" chad, and a YES vote requires an affirmative act on the part of the voter.

By the way, the above was pure speculation on my part.

The stuff I have found refers to a "majority of voters" going for "yes" or going for "no." I haven't seen anything that explains how a non-voted ballot is to be counted. Does a non-voted ballot (no "Yes" and no "No" on the recall question) represent a voter for the question of recall? If it does, it has to favor one side or the other, there is no middle ground between "Yes" and "No" for this ballot.

Does anybody have a definitive answer to how non-voted ballots will be counted?

Beware San Bernadino County's ballot could lead you to easily bypass the first question

I almost forgot to vote on the recall question. I'm in Orange County and we had a large paper ballot with no separation between the quesstion and the list of candidates. Very easy to skip the recall question.

I hate to break it to you, but apparently that was a fraudulent ad by OPPONENTS of 53 who could see that the anti-Busta crowd was going to win the day today. I guess it worked as far as getting you to oppose it.
