I understand that teh recall question is separate from the replacement question. That still doesn't answer my question, I don't think.

You say 50% + 1 vote and Davis is recalled. My question is 50% of WHAT? The total Yes and No chads? or the total number of ballots (which will include some with neither YES nor NO chads)?

or both. How about spoilled ballots with yes and no marked off. They are voided, yet do they count in the number where the 50% +1 are tabulated? They count as non votes typically. I would really love to actually read the election code here. Going to try to google it up.

I think your worst fears regarding the recall could be coming true.

Would your guess be that he has to win LA (davis I mean) by a 70 to 30 margin?

You get to vote on Q2, even if you vote to keep Davis.

A voter gets to vote on Q2, even if that voter doesn't punch "NO" (or "YES") on Q1.

Just got a confirmation. Orange County is not announcing until tomorrow in addition to LA.

Kevin Shelley is saying the results will be known in "a day or two"

I think that's right on the numbers. Anything less and he's toast.

Are they on touch screen down there?
The ones that make no paper trail?

I'm on punch card, as is much of Los Angeles. Not sure if there are any touch screen machines here yet.

50% plus 1 of the votes cast on the recall question only.

Looks like they're setting the Facist litigators stage.

They recognize the writing on the wall. They know the only way they can win this is to steal it in the courts (i.e., pushing for liberal judges who don't give a sh*t about the law).

I think it is 50%+1 vote of the total number of votes casted

I've been searching too. I would imagine that ballots with both YES and NO chads would be voided (or counted in both columns, same effect) as to Q1 -- but I wonder if a (proper) vote for (a single) replacement candidate on the same ballot would count?

The exit polls may be off on this one. Alot of the absentee votes were cast more than a week ago. A great number of the voters are absentee. Exit polls only reveal the voters minds on election day.

If absentees are heavily republican as typical, the exit polls may seriously undercount the yes votes, and the pro Arnold votes.

True about the snapshot provided by the exit polls. However, they'll also tell us how many of the absentee ballots Davis would have to get in order to steal the election.

Does anybody have a definitive answer to how non-voted ballots will be counted?

If you vote no on recall, and don't select a candidate, a poll worker will select a candidate for you...

Just kidding!
