McClintock Cautiously Optimistic About Chances (McC Mapping Out First Day in Office)

McClintock Cautiously Optimistic About Chances

After casting his vote this morning in a Thousand Oaks polling place, Republican state Senator Tom McClintock expressed confidence that an upset win would put him in the governor's office.

In recent days, McClintock has repeatedly said his his third place standing in the polls doesn't respresent the true feelings of voters. He believes the people of California will vote their consciences, resulting in a victory for him.

McClintock had a message for those who like his message, but say he can't win and intend to vote for Schwarzenegger instead of him. "Don't vote for someone else's calculations, vote your own convictions," he said.

While disturbed by recent allegations about fellow Republican Schwarzenegger, McClintock also expressed skepticism about the charges because of the timing. Whatever his reservations, however, he said that if the accusations are proven, Schwarzenegger doesn't deserve to be governor.

McClintock has mapped out his first day in office if elected. First, he plans to sign an executive order to repeal the car tax, then take action to rescind expensive energy contracts, and finally call a special session to examine workman's compensation issues.

LOL. Poor McClintock. However, you have to admire someone who is so arrogant that he would sacrafice the good of his own State and party by risking a win for Bustamante...

I hear you.

The recall may be a small but temporary victory for the GOP.

What happens when (R)nold (D)eviates?

When I am governor, I will set the state right financially.

When I have a pony, I will ride him every day and brush his hair in the stable.

When I have lots of friends, I will play with them every day.

Not like those mean establishment Republicans who won't have anything to do with me now.

It sounds like he just can't imagine any other reason for someone not to vote for him.

In recent days, McClintock has repeatedly said his his third place standing in the polls doesn't respresent the true feelings of voters. What the HELL does that mean? Is he insinuating the polls are rigged?

On FreeRepublic, and VIRTUALLY every talk show across America, Republicans have said,( check out the polls here!!) that Tom McClintock was their FIRST CHOICE, but that he couldn't win........if all those who have said it, would have gone with their conscience, and the GOP endorsed him as they SHOULD HAVE, he would be landsliding at this time. Pure and SIMPLE FACT.

Why would Arnold deviate to the Democratic Party? He would have an easier time in politics as a Democrat. He has been a Republican since he arrived in America. He chose the Republican Party because he hated the socialism of his home country. Austria was not exactly a free-market state. His favorite book is Milton Friedman's "Free to Choose;" he gives it out to his friends. This guy is a true liberal Republican. He is not a snake like Jim Jeffords, he is a real, hardcore economic Republican who takes liberal positions on some social issues. He's closer to being a libertarian than a Democrat. Democrats hate him for a reason, and it's not because he's aping their candidates.

Well, I, for one, am sick and tired of being told I'm not principled and don't have a conscience.

I'm also tired of seeing people ask others "If you aren't voting for McClintock, why are you at FR?"

I CAN'T WAIT...I decided to watch it at home instead of with 5,000 Republican Strangers at the Republican headquarters downtown. It's going to be sweet. And if the Dems do their "court" thing, the voters are going to be way PISSED OFF.
