TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - 10/8/03 - GOING DARK!

Posted on 10/08/2003 7:10:21 AM PDT by Rabid Dog

As many of you know this has been a local, regional, national news and views thread. I want to thank all of you that have respected its intent. When I first started this thead, I was on the fence between Arnold and Tom. Within a week, it became clear that Tom was the man I could respect and support.

Within a month it became clear that the CA G.O.P. was not an organization I could respect and support and so I have switched parties and will be changing my screen name to Rabid Dog.

Tomorrow I am entering Freeper Detox and will be drying out for a week or so but am looking foward to discussing the changes in California under the leadership of our new governor - ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!!

Ahnold's acceptance speech made me depressed. A high school kid could have been more inspiring. Looks like another useful idiot will run the state. Wilson, Buffet, and the other liberals will set policy. Glad to see the end of Davis, but McClintock is who this state needed.Fox news made McClintock out to be the one who brought respectability to the campaign.

Arnold had a world class budget - I expect it will hit $20 to $22 million.

I'll support Arnold in his conservative endeavors. So I will unite behind him as long as he stays right.

Let's see if Sabertooth has anything to say.

That isn't necessarily true - I just no longer want to be taken for granted. If the Republicans want my vote - they will have to earn it.

You were magnificent.

I won't re-register, though. The Party's platform, and many of its office holders still stand for the principles that brought me into the GOP in the first place.

I intend to stay and fight for those principles for the time being. The CRP won't get my money, but it can't escape my vote and speech, especially on matters that affect party control, such as the election of central committee members.

Meantime, we can work in our capacity as free citizens ... as family members, members of churches and civic groups, associations like non-profits, and in many other ways to defend the family, school choice, colorblind policies, property rights, the sanctity of life, our heritage of Western Civilization and its religious roots and vitality, and so forth.

I wonder how the new Governor and the Bishop in Sacramento will get along? Perhaps the man of God can bring Arnold back to obedience to his faith. I am praying for that.

Keep Faith!

Ahnold is exactly way Rabid (dog) is leaving the Republican party. He (ahnold)is a flaming liberal and the Republicans abandoned the true Republican in the race.Did you see the crowd on stage? All liberal democrats. At a Republican victory? The Republicans have stirred too far left to win.

Connect the dots.

We'll see. The California G.O.P. wants him to disappear - they didn't support him in his bid for controller, they didn't support him in his bid for Governor. They are probably talking to Kelsey Gramer/Fraiser as we speak. What a little drug history between friends?

Kudos to Tom from over here on the right coast for running a strong, positive campaign! I certainly hope his ideas are remembered and implemented - that would certainly be a positive step for California.

Rabid, please reconsider giving up on the Republican party. I believe it would be a lot easier to steer it in the proper direction from inside rather than pushing on it from the outside.

Your Humble Servant...

Thanks for all the hard work keeping the forum running. I pray we don't see a bunch of liberals joining Arnie's governorship as I fear.

The Republican party completely ignored their platform - which was voted in by the majority of its members. They have an unpublished agenda going.

If they redeem themselves, I will consider coming back into the "fold" but right now I don't want to be a "statistic" for them to use in their propaganda regarding the size of the party or in voting trends.

I'll have more impact from the outside than from the inside. They will want more more.

I voted for McClintock and I am proud of my vote. It hope he will be able to run against Boxer in the future, but it already sounds like Bill Jones has the inside track.

Tom McClintock has a future with the Republican party. He might have lost this race, but he's gained national respect. You backed a winner.

In a few weeks, it might be interesting to start a thread on who and what parties actually are.

I'm thinking of a serious, reflective discussion, not a flame war.

For now, let the dust settle, and pray for the best for our state.

Cheers,

Richard F.
