PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-five percent of Americans believe the news media in this country are too liberal, while only 14% say the news media are too conservative. These perceptions of liberal inclination have not changed over the last three years. A majority of Americans who describe their political views as conservative perceive liberal leanings in the media, while only about a third of self-described liberals perceive conservative leanings.
More generally, the Sept. 8-10 Gallup Poll finds that a little more than half of Americans have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the news media when it comes to reporting the news fully, accurately, and fairly. Trust in the news media has not changed significantly over the last six years. Conservatives have a slightly lower level of trust in the media than either moderates or liberals do...

Gee, with every major newspaper against both the recall and Schwartzegger, I can't imagine why voters would dare say the media is too liberal! Check out the full article!

I've felt for a long time that every single writer in the Chicago Tribune is giving me their opinion and not the news. Every single one of them. And with the Tribune empire growing steadily, I am worried about their agenda.

"Chicago Tribune is giving me their opinion and not the news...."
We have the same problem here on Long Island; it's called Newsday.
Their agenda seems to permeate every article. I stopped reading the rag a while ago, it infuriated me to much.
It truly is the liberal way: "truth be damned - we know what's best for you; just accept and follow".

I can't figure out how almost 40% say the mix is about right. Sure the CA sleeze campaign is an example, but a better one is Bush and Iraq. Did Clinton have to put on a campaign to let people know about our how thing really went in Kosivo? Heck no, just the opposite; the main-line press refuses to even mention that we are still there and if we leave the killing will start all over again!
Yet Bush has to personally tell us what is working in Iraq. I have yet to hear a main-line press report about the hijacker training camp south of Bagdad. I have yet to hear them mention that most Iraqis are happy we got rid of Saddam and are there. I have yet to hear them mention that electricity is on in Bagdad. I have yet to hear them metion that the IRANIANS are saying, "...please come here next!" I have yet to hear them mention that we found a centerfuge for enriching U-235 under a scientist's garden. I have yet to see them show the mass graves, the torture chambers, the rape rooms, the jailed children who's only crime was to refuse to join "the party".
Saddly, this group only sees and hears what the main-line press wants them to see and hear. This is how they keep the masses in line. Fox News, Rush, and other similar programs are a threat to their monopoly.
Hitler's propaganda minister had a theory called the "BIG LIE"; "If you tell a lie often enough, loudly enough, and with enough conviction, it becomes truth." The liberals and the main-line press have proven this theory to be correct in large part. The liberal's true hero is Hitler (of course they say Hitler was a right winger even though SOCIALIST was part of thier party name!).
I should explain my term "Main-Line". The standard term of "main-stream" really doesn't fit the majority of the press. You can choose not to wade in a stream. However when the press has an agenda and a monopoly they have the ability to inject their poison directly into the minds of the population, much as a herion addict injects his poison directly into his blood stream.

Forty-five percent of Americans believe the news media in this country are too liberal, while only 14% say the news media are too conservative.Translation: By a 3-to-1 margin, people who watch the news believe the news media is too liberal. The remaining 40% don't watch any news at all.
A majority of Americans who describe their political views as conservative perceive liberal leanings in the media ...
Who are the remaining idiots in the conservative ranks who don't think there is a liberal bias? Off with their heads!
... while only about a third of self-described liberals perceive conservative leanings.
Translation: 10-15% of self-described liberals are really Leftists, meaning EVERYTHING is conservative to them. The remaining 15-20% think the media is too conservative because of the existence of a single network (Fox) that isn't liberal, even though it is available only on cable and is not even available on all cable networks.

Are the News Media Too Liberal? From the experience of the "Master at Debating Liberal Fraudulence", William F. Buckley, I must quote the Man:
"......Liberals do a great deal of talking about HEARING other points of view,
but it shocks them sometimes to learn that THERE ARE other points of view.........."
