Jean Chretien prime minister of Canada, is hanging onto his top job with his fingernails though his replacement has already been chosen.
He has appointed everyone who is anyone in Canada for the past ten years. They, of course, make the decisions he likes. Click here for Canadian poetry that should be read
A Lean Jean Lousy Legacy
By
James Bredin
Jean: I hear you had another caucus meeting with friends,
You want to stay as prime minister and buck all the trends,
They say that your shelf life has expired and long gone,
And you are now irrelevant and you just dont belong.
I hear you read reports with no interest in what they said,
Want to push some of your lousy legislation instead,
And democracy as far as you are concerned is dead,
You dont understand that your opposition is widespread.
They insulted you and said the emperor had no clothes,
And you threatened another snap election just to teach those,
And then they laughed even louder and the meeting froze,
Paul Martin had a meeting too and his influence grows.
