Good morning Rush. At the risk of sounding cliché, today is the first day of the rest of your life. Im pretty sure you slept well last night; people who are honest with themselves and others generally do.
Im writing this, because in the 10+ years that Ive been listening to your show, Ive come to regard you as a friend. Not as a personal friend obviously, but nevertheless, like any other friend, someone who shares many ideas and values and someone who can always be counted on to be there. Even while I served overseas, and AFN limited your show to one-hour a day, I knew I could generally tune-in for a little bit of common sense.
During your admission yesterday, the humanity in your voice was readily evident and that is one thing that many of both your fans and detractors have lost sight of in your unparalleled success: the fact that your are human. Your fans who share your beliefs in American freedom and opportunity have placed you on a pedestal and admired you as an example of what happens when somebody is the best at what they do, and willing to work hard towards their goals. In doing so we may have unknowingly robbed you of a portion of your humanity, and placed expectations upon you, which you in turn, placed upon yourself.
Likewise, your detractors have always demonized you, and will no doubt, in the coming weeks and months be slopping at the trough like the hogs they are. They have always done everything in their power to undermine your public persona because they fear you. Their efforts to undermine you have always backfired. Indeed, I started listening to you when Time Magazine asked the question, Rush Limbaugh: The Most Dangerous Man in America? I tuned in to see what the controversy was about and ended up listening to a, warm and cuddly fuzzball.
Persons with your drive are frequently their own harshest critics. To a certain degree this is healthy; however, during times of crisis, it is time to stop beating yourself up; there will be more than enough others willing to do that for you. Now is not the time to batter yourself. Its the time to lick your wounds, and rely on your friends (and you have millions of em!) and loved ones to help see you through this.
The imprint you have made on this nation has been invaluable and I personally believe that if history remains intellectually honest, you will be among a select handful of individuals to whom future Americans can thank for a reclamation of our values and ideals.
Whatever legal issues remain to be dealt with; I am confident that you will be forthright and accept responsibility for your actions, as I would expect of any of my closest personal friends.
Legal issues notwithstanding, youre in my prayers and those of countless millions of others during your rehab. Addiction can be a lifetime sentence, or even sometimes, the death penalty. Even though you have the strength of character and the will power to beat this, remember that your talents are, on loan from GOD, and make him an integral traveling companion on your journey.
In closing Rush, I wish you the best and want you to know that you have my fullest support. I look forward to, and the liberals are all ready wetting themselves in fear of the day when you return with the other half of your brain no longer tied behind your back!
Frankly, the libs can throw stones at Rush when they get Teddy to start going to AA.

As one who lives daily with chronic pain, I can fully empathize with why Rush used the painkillers to the point of becoming addicted. I chose to become disabled from normal daily activities, rather than become dependent upon painkillers to function. I'm certainly thankful Rush has been able to carry on for so long under such desperate conditions, but I would much rather have him back now without the pain management. I too consider him a friend and I want the best health and long life for this freind.

Look on some of the other threads and see where some are ready to desert our mutual friend and join the libs who would love to kill him off.
""Rush was seduced by pills."
is somewhat open ended. It's not like many in hollowwood or other elements of the media who actually are drawn to / fascinated by, and therefore popularize and perpetuate drug abuse. Rush was given the hard stuff for severe pain. I'm not being argumentative, just trying to clarify.
During dark days of the awful Clinton corruption...
Debunking all the liberal horseshit day-in and day-out...
Exposing the evil dems (led by the Clintons and their minions) in the work they do for the devil every day...
Rush is the voice I trust to speak from God and carry His message without fear and I will ALWAYS support and trust Rush.
Now, (as we all knew it would come sooner or later) he is under violent attack from the dems. True, no one else got him into his situation, but the evil dems--like bullies on the playground--attack the weak point of their enemies.
I pray for Rush's recovery, and I hope when he completes his rehab that he tells the g**d*m Clintonites and their minions to stuff it sideways up there @sses. We need Rush.
