Simple tips on vastly improving your personal relationship with God

Sorry, but I happened to notice that spending time reading and studying the word of God wasn't included. I can think of no better way to draw nigh to Him.

I have found that living a lifestyle of worship works. We are created to worship Him. I firmly believe that He inhabits the praises of His people. In that inhabitation when His presence is so present, you can't help but to be drawn closer to Him.

James 4:8a Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Just a counter-point for folks to keep in mind...the converse can happen.
A person can get depraved and sufficiently alienated from G-d that even
the Almighty will draw back and issue "walking papers". Although the Ephesians 4 passage
below speaks to this...I think there are other passages on this topic.

It sort of reminds me of what C.S. Lewis said (in "Mere Christianity"?)...in the final
analysis either the supplicant will have a spirit of "Thy will be done" or
G-d will say "Thy will be done" to the unrepentant sinner who made the wrong choices.

EPHESIANS 4
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not
as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through
the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all
uncleanness with greediness.

20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

Nice work! The additions of continual attitude of praise and worship and the searching and studying of His Word really round out these essay well.

So true. These kinds of little miracles will happen if you just ask God.

I took a taxi from a hotel to a church in the riot-torn part of Los Angeles (1995?). The taxi driver promised to be there to pick me up afterwards, but I had gotten the time wrong and he wasn't there. Hundreds of people were heading home, it was getting dark, and I was stuck, not knowing a soul and without a phone. I asked God for help. Immediately, a man approached me out of the crowd and asked if I was waiting for a taxi. He pointed to the street, and there was my taxi driver. In the back seat were two women who said "Where were you? we've been waiting for you!".

God is always waiting for you. It's up to you to ask him to walk with you.

I like the intention of your post and you sound like a nice person, but I could never in my wildest dreams ask God to help me find my keys. Thanks for the laugh though.

Our main prayer should be that His will be done through us.

God bless you.
