150,000 people nationwide are becoming Catholics today and I am sure their numbers trump the small group of feminists who feel abandoned by the church on this practice.
If this is the issue that is keeping women away so be it. (Sarcasm huge)

Traditionalists oppose inclusion of women in the ritual, but others see it as an outdated rule that can alienate women from the church. That is SO stupid. If a woman's faith is so shallow that not having a female get her feet washed is going to damage it, she's got major problems!

Pardon my ignorance but do people really show up to church expecting to get their feet washed? I couldn't do it. I'd feel so self-conscious about it, having a priest wash my feet. I know it's a just a ritual, but even so, I'd prefer to just sit in my pew and sing the hymns. I don't want to be taking my shoes and socks off in public and neither do I particularly want to smell the feet of others. But that's just me. To each their own.
