Not having a crucifix over the altar is the first thing I noticed and is one of the things listed in a thread about abuses in the Church.
I'll look again.
I agree that the altar should be up in front.
<sarcasm here -- Do all the monks bow to the abbot as he processes down to the altar? -- (I know, I'm bad.
When I entered the church for the first time I remembered that my bedroom used to have an old torchiere lamp similar to the ones located by the "altar" in this church.
He may have used a different word or phrase to describe the Catechism such as "worthless" or "not worth paper its written on".
You get the idea.
This place is not near as glorious as the author of the article would have you believe. It is, as a previous poster pointed out, teeming heretical and dissident "theologians". I used to live in a diocese that sent nearly all of the priests through there, with less than stellar results. They are fairly consistent in their inability to know just about anything Catholic, accepting in it's stead a Gospel of "peace", "love", and, of course, social justice.
I also have sat through a retreat with one of their professors (a monk) who was kind enough to spend the week debunking the myth that is the Gospel of Mark.
I have heard that the new Archdeacon is better, but have yet to see any visible results of that. I guess we will see.
Welcome to FR!
