Do you think we are in the End Times?

Yes, to a point. The end of this age to be sure. The end of the world - no.

Pope JPII has been told that he is "the last pope of theses Catholic times".

We go now to Calvary.

Whatsamatta, don't you have a handy link for a Bob Jones University jpeg to accompany such "pronouncements"? Disgraceful.

I am a poor man, but I will counter your reply with the few words I can afford:

Christus Vincit! Christus Regnat Christus Imperat!

Gloria nostrea, misericorda nostra, Auxialiam nostrae; fortidudo nostrae; arma nostrae incta,

In the UK, Brighton proudly wears the title these days -Capital of Occulture.
What rot - I live in Brighton, E. Sussex and We're definitely not The capital of occulture -- we're the capital of weird (well, I suppose the two go together) -- in Brighton, the unusual is the norm -- and I never heard of this title for our city by the sea. A more apt name would be the City that burned the pier ;-P

Nah, but seriously, I'm pretty proud of my adoptetd little city by the sea -- you always see something new out here -- and meet tons of folks -- why in the last party I went off to we had at least 50 different nationalities -- and many mixed nationalities: Israelies, Iranis, English, French, Itlaians, Spanish, indians, Germans, Americans, Tahitians, Canadians, Greek, Slovaks, Danish, Comoran, Ecuadorean etc. and everyone gets along pretty fine. The Catholic churchs over here are packed on Sundays and pretty filled up even for the daily masses.

sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll.

This particular phrase's construction is NOT an accident.

Personally, I think it's interesting that you assign blame on the Roman Catholic Church for the rise of occultism.

Not Satan, but the Catholic Church.

For someone who professes Catholicism, that's a strange way to look at things, Thor...

Why the flurry of interest? The failure of the Roman Catholic Church to function as a vessel of sacramental grace in the aftermath of vatican II. It's that simple. And all the once spiritually strong Protestant denominations have followed suit in a way, losing what ever grace they had in the strong faith of their preaching.

It is all a sign of these times......and is the result of the Fatima "or" chosen by Pope John XXIII.

The author forgot to mention this would justify the disobedience of the false-traditionalist movements, and form the basis for disobeying the Pope.

I have said before, by returning to the Tridentine Mass exclusively, problems and specifically these trends in occultism would not change. The Church is still there, and as Christ promised, still ready to teach those who would learn, and provide Sacramental Grace for all Souls desiring them.

If people could see the sin on their soul, lets say it is a black mark, some of us would spend a lot of time removing the marks, some would be in denial, and others would spend all the time they could blackening the soul.

Let me see, people going off to take drugs have sex and otherwise debauch in the desert, because nothing else in their lives can help them get Sacramental Graces?

No, these people spend their lives in dissipation because nothing better ever came along, and now they are too far gone to care for better things.

You must be pretty effective if you have incurred the wrath of the FR Living Magisterium. Keep up the good Catholic fight.

Christianity--and this is its noblest merit--mitigated in a measure that brutal Germanic lust for war; it could not destroy it, however. Should the taming talisman, the cross, shatter some day, there will then burst forth again the ferocity of the old warriors, the insane frenzy of which the Nordic poets sing and speak so much. The talisman is decaying and the day will come when it will woefully break down. The old stone gods will then rise from the long-forgotten ruins, rub the thousand-year-old dust from their eyes, and Thor with his giant sledge-hammer will, in the end, leap forth and smash the Gothic cathedrals. ---Heinrich Heine

Occultists who follow the Norse mythology welcome chaos and strife as a way to usher in Ragnarok, the destruction of this present world, after which the world will be reborn in a sort of second creation. Many of the other occultists have similar beliefs.

The cross is (rightly) seen as the enemy in a way that Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism is not.

Personally, I think it's interesting that you assign blame on the Roman Catholic Church for the rise of occultism.

Precisely for the reason that the Church has for the most part abandoned her mission. She fails to preach the truth in most pulpits, is sorely lacking in sacramental grace, due to the lack of valid sacraments being dispensed in all too many quarters.

Two generations of children have been raised on "liturgy in the worship space", fuzzy/ambiguent/or a total lack of teaching of the faith. Denial of the existance of intelligent evil, which is the Devil.

Any children raised without such proper teaching and sacrmental grace, are ready fodder for Satan. They have no defenses. No armor.

So, such people can readily be lured into the occult, as they have not been shown or led to know Christ. The church has failed over 40 some years in this regard. Christ is not honored in our churches, worship, ......much less then in the tabernacle. So he does not stay where he is not wanted.

He has "shaken the dust from his feet", and moved on. We Catholic who have rejected him by our apostacy - of priest and people alike - are getting what we deserve.

The Church will survive, but not in the shell of the present infrastructure. It will appear to have died, yet really living in the hearts and souls of those very few Catholics who still believe in him - not in the cardboard cut-out presented by the Conciliar church.

Not the black Jesus, gay Jesus, hug me Jesus, hippie Jesus, feminist Jesus, liberal Jesus, conservative Jesus, ghetto Jesus, politically correct Jesus, nor any other model presented by some lunatic in a roman collar.

But the Jesus who is the Lord of History, the Son of the Living God, the Great and Terrible Judge - of infinite mercy, and total, absolute justice. The Man/God who bled to death on Cavary who will judge us all.

The Holy One who wages a continuous war with Satan - which he will ultimately win. The pawns in this war are the souls of men. That is all it is - and all it ever was about.

The Children/seers of Fatima were priviedged to see a vision of Hell........with millions of souls falling into it, particularly in our times. Those who will not live by the law shall die by the law. Those who are not told about the law - or told when they are in danger of violating it, are in standing at the edge of that pit, teetering on the edge.

The clerics of the church over the last 40 yearshave not rushed forth in horror to snatch errent sould from the edge of the pit. They yawn......ignore them.....tell them nothing is wrong........encourage them to sin more.....sometimes even jump in with them, in the joy of their service to the horned one.

This is not flight of fancy. Nor is it imagination. It is all too real.

If a parent does not warn the child not to touch the hot stove, the child will touch it, and get burned.

A "strange way to look at things"? Hardly.

He bled on Calvary to save us, not judge us.

You seem to always present a God with a frown on His Face.

Thank you for posting that.

It is for exactly for that reason that crosses were on the tops of churches & cathedrals. The crucifix, with the representation was all the more powerful, which is why pious laymen carved them and made privateshrines on their property, as reminders to prayer, and to ward off evil.

The crucifix was displayed inside the churches - the corpus was important. Not only to impel the faithful to pious prayer, but to scare away demons.

Note that the proponants of the Novus Ordo will remove crosses and crucifixes from churches.....and literally rip the corpus off of a processional cross, such is their hell-bent fury to accomplish what you pointed up in your post.

"This is the sign which Satan's legions fear, and angels veil their faces to revere".

It seems that modernist clerics like to deny that Christ is the just judge of us all. God is the same as he always was -
infinite mercy and tenderness, but total & abolute justice. He himself defines himself as an angry and jealous God - jealous of our selfishness and worship of false gods of this world, and all other sins.

I guess there are those who hate and fear the great mosaic in the National Shrine in Washington, of Christ in Judgement.

If so, then how will they stand it when the Miracle happens?

Much less, the particular judgement of us all?

You're not serious about the mercy and tenderness, thor.

Your post is all about fear, and judgment, and an "angry God."

You need a God of terror.

It has become a barren and sterile place.

"O what fear man's bosom rendeth when from heaven the judge descendeth, on whose judgement all dependeth.

Lo! The book, exactly worded, wherein all hath been recorded; Thence shall judegment be accorded.

When the Judge his seat attaineth, and each hidden deed arraineth, nothing unavenged remaineth.

What shall I, a frail man, be pleading? Who for me be interceding - when even the just are of mercy needing?

Righteous judge! For sins pullotion, grant thy gift of absolution, ere the day of retribution!"

From the "Dies Irae" in the Tridentine Requiem Mass. Translated from the Roman Missal.

He calls Rome "the bastard Church."

This religion forum has become a snake pit.
