Bishop Wuerl is probably the best we could hope for.

That's good news. Hopefully by the time my nephew gets ready to apply there, the grey haired poofs will be retired.

I'm watching the rerun of the Fall meeting on EWTN. Our dubious former and retired of Phoenix bishop Thomas O'Brein was in attendence.

Is he still a voting member? No doubt he's a Skylstad fan.

"Vlasney did concelebrate Bishop Vasa's installation Mass .."

Vlasny is Vasa's Metropolitan. He is also the only other diocesan ordinary in Oregon.

You should at least be able to eat warm crow. Sinkspur said Wuerl would win the second position but George did. So he was only half right.

No,he's not a voting member. You would think he would have the decency to stay away but he doesn't. I am sure he is a Skylstad fan.

Remember when he told the papers that the Pope had invited him to Rome for the "ad limina" visit? That was quite a gaffe,he kind of went off the radar for a long time after that little bit of dissembling puff.

Oh,so it was a matter of protocol. I can't see anything redeeming about him now. I think I'll be naming him soon.

Argh...from what you've told me about this guy, this is bad news. Why couldn't George get elected? He would have been amazing.

What the heck kind of a stole is that he's got on?

Looks like something designed to celebrate gay indians.

I truly do believe the whole Hierarchy of the Catholic Church is in Moral Bankruptcy and only the High Court of Heaven can appoint a real Leader to get them out of it.

The USCCB is a bunch of moral midgets who can't tell right from wrong. and their thought processes are blinded with Hubris.

Father Scahill of East Longmeadow MA. got it just right but they will make him suffer for his courage.

It's business as usual at the USCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCB! Maybe the Rainbow Sashers will "out" more their kind during his term. These bishops really have NO CLUE. NONE whatsoever...

Well, they just elected Bishop Troutman head of the Liturgy Committee. He is a proponent of Gender-Neutral Language, anti-Vatican (GIRM, revision of ICEL in the Roman Missal), etc. He was nominated from the floor which is rare and was elected over two Orthodox individuals (the two Orthodox individuals presumably split the good vote). Raymond Arroyo said this was an example of the Old Guard pushing the New Guard back down. God Bless

Still, not a good outcome, the Bad Guys definitly won that vote it would appear. Going to be intersting to see how this guy reacts when the New Translation comes down.
