Absolutely fascinating....I think there will be years and years worth of scholarly work on the comparison between the Trdientine Mass and the Novus Ordo Mess...the two are SO different.
I did forget, until you reminded me!
This is really good.
I once heard a theory that the Shroud may have been the table cloth used at the Last Supper.
According to Anne Catherine Emmerich several of the women went back to the Inn in order to get cloths to wipe up the Blood shed by Our Lord. It is a Jewish custom, still done today after terrorist attacks to wipe up the blood of the Jewish victims.
There is also a story that Claudia, the wife of Pontious Pilate supplied the cloths.
I was told the Shroud has drops of wine on it, making it plausible it was used at the Last Supper and supporting the Jewish custom where hosts fed their guests the first bite of food and drink.
Holy Communion on the tongue anyone?
Great post ....my 2cents is a place that just recently reprinted the old 1962 Daily Missals with the Latin Mass ect .in them, St. Joseph daily Missal and St. Andrew Daily Missal/ web site : www.libers.com. For those who need 'em!
"Mel Gibson" bump.
Thanks for the post. I have a 1962 and 1963 St. Joseph missal which has allm the information for Sundays and Holy Days of obligation Masses. They are essentially the same with the exception of some differant pictures and non-Mass prayers on differany pages. I will look into the reprinted daily Missal though.
