Investigators have found no evidence that Brooks acted illegally with children at the Leesburg church or any other at which he served during his three decades with the Diocese of Arlington and 13 years with the Diocese of Richmond, Plowman said. Ordained in 1961, therefore must have been a seminary student during the 1950s.

Most of the men claimed that they were violated as boys from 1968 to 1982 by James Hanley, who served at three northern New Jersey parishes. He was removed from the priesthood in 2002, 17 years after church officials learned of complaints against him.
...
The statement also said that he [Hanley] had admitted to Rodimer in 1984 that he had molested about a dozen boys.
No clue as to when Hanley and Rodimer were trained or ordained.

John F. Dougherty Jr., 61, who lives in Las Vegas, Nev., said the Rev. Edward B. Carley raped him when he was 10 years old, serving as an altar boy at St. Ann's Church in Wilmington. Carley served as assistant pastor there from 1954 to 1962. Dougherty said he was in contact with Carley for more than 10 years and was abused repeatedly by him.

In March, the Denver archdiocese announced that it could substantiate claims against seven diocesan priests who abused 21 victims since 1950. The archdiocese said it had spent nearly $1 million on settlements and counseling during that period.

These were the top stories for today, February 16, 2005:I also typed in diocese at Google News about an hour ago. The top three were there as you listed them but #4 was good news.
It might be more accurate to say these are among the top stories on the first two pages.
And yes, it is very difficult to read the facts related to corruption and perversity within the Church.
