Convenient to carry and easily fits into any pocket, the decade rosary is good for those on the go.

Sheen cuts to the chase, as usual. Because the Rosary is repetitive, it allows one to say the words while meditating on the mysteries, or by simply placing one's self in the presence of Christ and His mother.

Reciting the Rosary forces one to calm down, to relax. Ever have trouble sleeping? Pick up a rosary and start praying it.

What a wonderful article.

That's a much better page than what I've been using. Thanks.

I challenged my 7th graders to do one decade of the Rosary every day for Lent instead of giving up soft drinks or chocolate. Or maybe in addition to. Told them to go through one mystery a day and then start over that would give them 40. I offered to give them a copy of the Chanted Rosary in mp3. Only about 4 even seemed interested. Hopefully one boy will continue this after Lent.

I am a recent convert to Catholicism who has been praying the rosary each day for Lent. IMHO, it is the best Lenten penance I have ever done.

could you direct me to copy of the chanted roasary mp3?

thanks.

I love listening to all these CD's in the car....especially the rosary one.

I often give the Rosary CD as a gift to children making their 1st Communion or even at baby showers. The CD played in a nursery has a habit of soothing children even at a young age.

God Bless!

Thanks for posting this, Coleus! Excellent summary and history of the Rosary! Bourbon, I'm a recent convert like you (I was formally received into the Church Easter 2004). I started praying the Rosary in Lent 2001. I was Anglican then, and a Catholic friend gave me a Rosary in early 2001. I got curious, visited my local Catholic book store, and bought a couple of books on Mary and the Rosary. After reading them, I thought the Rosary would be a perfect Lenten discipline. I haven't stopped praying it since. The Rosary is a treasure and a great blessing.

Here are a couple of links...

Monks of Adoration

New Advent MP3 Library

I have the Monk Chant and a CD from the chapel near work on my iPod. I listen to it on the bus in the morning.

If you are ordering from the Mary Foundation order the Fr. Larry Richards stuff or go to his web site at frlarry.com. He came to our Parish for Mission Week in January for 4 days. Every night it was packed. There were more people in attendance than at Midnight Mass or Easter. It was the most incredible 4 nights!!!

Neato. You and I came into the Church at precisely the same moment. And like you, I'm also a convert from the ECUSA.
