Not working.
A fellow BTVS fan where I work told me that Spike "stole the show" when he appeared on Angel. That's easy for me to believe. Angel as a muppet does sound pretty funny.
Muppet Angel attacks Spike when he says "you're a wee little puppet man!" Funniest brawl ever.
Threads like these always get me to work more on my own fantasy novel in hopes that some day I may see people debating about the evilness and hidden meanings in it.
I hadn't thought of that aspect. I was just hoping for cold, hard cash...
Maybe I need more magic in mine.
I just consider the debate a fringe benefit. The real fun will be going onto a thread like this and arguing both sides within a few entries of each other. Or making up things about the author. LOL!
After all, debate and controversy = free publicity!
Personally I think I'll market my "Jumping to Conclusions" diet book first...
Just spell my name write...
A while back JKR posted on her site that yes it really was her in a Harry Potter chat room. She had gone into a chat room and told people who she was and no one believed her! LOL!
She gave different theories on what will happen next in the series and everyone told her she was nuts and how those things will never happen. She said finally she just gave up and started talking Sponge Bob with everyone.
No doubt one of Harry's spells turned SpongeBob gay...
No doubt.
No, but witchcraft is the only thing that can explain SpongeBob's popularity.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can just hear Spike saying that. He hated Angel on BTVS.
Try to retain some of your common sense in the face of this declining culture. Holy Scripture says "the number of fools is infinite." They may be laughing all the way to the bank, but their cash flow sets them on their eternal course of perdition.
My daughter told me about something she saw in a second hand store on display...
Have you tried them? ;o)
Seriesly, we are a strong Catholic family and we love the books. Our two youngest and I each have our own set, and we have 3 copies of the 6th book on order.
Our kids know the difference between fantasy and reality, and know what is sinful and not. Much of our Classical literature is based on the consequences of sinful actions, but we still encourage our children to read it.
Well said.
Amazing how such mediocre material can be so commercially successful. Too many comic book mentality people out there, huh? Two-dimensional reading for two-dimensional personalities would explain it.
But if it were not for the fascination with the occult the HP series communicates, it would hardly be worth commenting on.
Check out the news today. There's a high school boy whose mother is a wiccan priestess, divorced. Her son was "so sad" she says, until he started wearing his black lipstick and red mohawk and red eye/cheek makeup. The school wants him to stop this dress-up thing, but he's expressing himself, he says. The ACLU chimes in saying it's infringing on his rights. The boy says that all the girls in his school wear makeup, so if he has to stop, so should they.
Anyone wonder if he likes Harry Potter? I'll bet his mother thinks it's real fine stuff: makes her occupation more respectable, see?
