Hal's 'prophesies' related to the former Soviet union in "The LAte Great Planet Earth" seem to have missed the mark. No reason to think this is any better.
I think the jury is still out on a number of his conjectures.
BTW, he has never claimed to be a prophet.
He's merely a researcher with some good connections.
