I am impressed that, even in the face of the battles going on in the sems, that strong, orthodox young men are still graduating and entering the field. Fort Wayne, from whence my Pastor graduated, has become sort of a haven for orthodoxy. There are still a few seminaries where our young men can be trained in orthodoxy and are only minimally subjected to some of the New Age "reason" that so many have embraced.

It is my opinion, as a late 30-something, that we parishioners must do more to support these orthodox young priests and we must overcome those who preach heterodoxy (pastors or fellow members). That's the only way for us to take the church back from the reasonable flowerchildren who have so far pretty well screwed it up. We are currently dealing with this in my own congregation, but we are winning. We are becoming more orthodox at every turn.

The same can be true of the sems, if the people will demand orthodox pastors.

I am one of those orthodox Lutherans who has promised to stay in the ELCA at least until the CWA this summer, and to help fight the "gay"/feminazi plague. So we are both in the same boat, and need to pray for each other. Those of us, such as myself, in "bue synods" without decent Lutheran alternatives if the ELCA continues on its suicidal course may need special prayers.

In our area, there are no ELCA congregations that would leave the denomination if it goes south, and the few Missouri congrgations are truly weird.

If the "gay" resolutions are passed, and if that feminazi hymnal is as well, many, many Lutherans may be departing for all sorts of other churches. Becoming Orthodox will be the best alternative for many, although many more will go to evangelical Protestant churches.

Or Catholic. I have heard a few that will go there, but many fear that they will be in the same boat in the Catholic church that they are in now. The trend of homosexualizing Christianity in the US is pretty strong.

I am a bit worried about the new LCMS hymnal as well. While I haven't seen anything firm yet, I have heard some rumors..
