You were asking how a priest could afford a house in Amagansett. According to real estate records, the property is 1.3 acres. Also, he has owned the house for a very long time, so he may have inherited it, or bought it many years ago.

It was an ugly divorce. The husband suspected the affair for some time. Her daughter even signed an affidavit saying that they were in a Jacuzzi together. Her mom was on his lap. Her mom told her it was perfectly normal.

No, here in NW PA. We've had a very lib, amchurch kind of diocese for the last 20 or so years and longer if you count the place many of our priests hail from, and the fruits are evident. It seems, especially since the easing of rules and requirements in the 60's and 70's, that more and more of us know of priests who never really should have been priests or who were given a sort of Catholic-lite priesthood to follow and their faith sometimes faltered as a result. Luckily, we know many more good and faithful priests, but that's another story.

I don't know this woman but I know I'd never sleep with a priest. Weird. She must be really needy or something.

Probably needy, true; and probably also drawn to him by a "rock star" complex; he's the guy in charge, and that's apparently attractive to some women.

As for the priest, well that's easy. I once had the opportunity to look at some of the books in the library of a Msgr, and there were a surprising number about celibacy, its difficulties, and so on. The temptation is always there, and undoubtedly sharpened by trying to avoid it. There are all sorts of women around him, looking up to him, paying him lots of attention. It's probably difficult enough to stay celibate without a woman expressing interest in return.

There but for the grace of God go I, and I'm happily married....

Well I suspect we will not see him hosting that show on EWTN anymore.

The divorce is pending and it will get uglier.

She looks like a mob mistress.

Oh, wait--she is a mob mistress...the Purple Mafia.

Bettinelli is right. Clark was a fool to get himself in this mess. Whatever happened to avoiding the near occasion of sin.

Oh. Again. Well, it's a shame. Many mortal sins there with some venial ones as well, I suppose.

It's a sad situation, and I'm not getting off on anybody's pain in this. May God be merciful and may they move ahead with their lives somehow, separately I would assume.

She can get an annulment and find somebody else perhaps, and he can move away and do something productive.

Too bad about the Jacuzzi. They aren't normal to me at all. Don't think I've ever been in one, closest was at a whirlpool at some health club I was a guest at. That life is not for me.

I'm with you, seamole. It seems to me that Msgr. Clark was caught in the crossfire of the DeFilippos' divorce.

Was that the incident where the mistress was wearing a red satin teddy, undulating on Cark's lap, and the 14 year-old walked in on them? I don't think they were in a jacuzzi. If so, that makes it even kinkier.

Someone high up should examine Clark's computer for pornography. He is a dirty old man, for sure.

No, according to the aunt the daughter walked in and her mom was sitting on his lap in a satin teddy. For what it's worth...he had or has prostate cancer as well.

I read both the NY Post and the NY Daily News. The incident you refer to was in NYPost.

It was a hotel in Amagansett, not his house. Unless the story has changed.
