The annual "Coming Out Day" BBQ at Gonzaga University!
Gonzaga Website ^

Posted on 10/11/2005 8:39:06 PM PDT by narses

HERO: (Helping Educate Regarding Orientation: A Gay/Straight Alliance) As an integral part of the Gonzaga University, HERO members are motivated by the humanistic, Catholic, and Jesuit traditions to which this university belongs. They seek to encourage the development of self-knowledge, self-acceptance, a restless curiosity, a desire for truth, a mature concern for others, and a thirst for justice within the context of faith development and human transformation. In October, HERO hosts an annual "Coming Out Day" BBQ.

"They seek to encourage the development of self-knowledge,... a restless curiosity,"

Why is it that homosexual advocates are so certain that bi-curious individuals really are gay? Couldn't some of them be wrong? Or are they "gay" because they acted on that curiosity (they were encouraged to act on)? And they can't be counselled into heterosexual attitudes?

Should the school even be encouraging pre-marital sex? Are there many homosexual virgins who "save" themselves for "marriage"? Only one partner?

Or is this about sex first and commitment second?

~ PRAYER ~

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we  humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
 by the power of God,
Thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
 Amen

In other news today:

The Catholic Diocese of Spokane will sell its headquarters and the home of Bishop William Skylstad to settle claims of people who contend they were sexually abused by priests, according to a plan filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court Monday. But the issue of who owns individual parishes, schools and other Catholic property in the diocese is still unresolved, so the plan carries few specifics on the amount of money that would be available for victims.

Attorneys for victims called the reorganization plan another delay tactic by the diocese, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last December. Diocese attorney Shaun Cross acknowledged that the plan to emerge from bankruptcy does not include the usual financial worth information because the issue of assets is not decided. But he says the plan "creates a framework for the resolution of all claims in a global way."

Skylstad, in Rome on church business, issued a statement saying the plan deals justly with the claims of clergy sex abuse, while allowing the Spokane Diocese to continue its ministry.

Gee, I wonder how this guy gets along with the rest of the faculty. Probably not too well I'd imagine.

Maybe they are weeding out their potential priest pool.

If they were "motivated by Catholic tradition" this group wouldn't exist. What a bunch of CINOs.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

As though people are heroes to succumb to homosexual temptation - note the kinds of words homosexual activists used to promote the "gay" agenda, especially to encourage the so-called "questioning" youth: Pride, heroes, humanistic, inclusive, tolerant, diversity, accepting, affirming. All nice, good words.

What is the truth? Disease, death, increased drug/alcohol abuse, loneliness, pain, filth, promiscuity, self-hatred, obsession, anonymous sex.

I am waiting impatiently for the Vatican people to hammer down on crap like this.

Freepmail me and DirtyHarryY2K if you want on/off this pinglist.

WT--?!

Father Spitzer is the president, isn't he? He seems like an orthodox Catholic. Hopefully he'll squash this.
