"Ahhh I understand now, so in this they're saying they have more authority than the scriptures?"

Something like: "We GAVE 'em to ya, so we have authority over 'em!"


The error, of course, is in their failure to recognize that God gave the Scriptures.

Thank you for the explanation, I never would have expected that anyone would boast more authority than the Word of God.

The Scriptures were given to the Church, Not the other way around. Without the interpretation of the Holy Church, there is only chaos. St. John Chrysotom wrote the first definitive commentary on the Scriptures. Read it some time, it may enlighten it.

You are rather obtuse. God surely did not use some semi literate southerner to give us the Bible. He worked throught the Curch He Created to give us the Bible. What, did the Bible arrive in the mail one day with a return address of Heaven? You "biblical" Christians are funny. I love how you beleive that God wants you to constantly misinterpret and use His Word out of context. A little levity is a good thing! But I guess that's one of the only benefits of being having a protestant heresy.
