Obama coupled his advice with a warning. "Nothing is more transparent than inauthentic expressions of faith: the politicians who shows up at a black church around election time and claps off rhythm to the gospel choir."
An apt description of the Democrats courting Christians in 2006...

How can the Godless compete for people of faith?

In so many ways Ann Coulter has done a great service. Trotting out unassailable "victims" to voice Leftist Talking Points is no longer a viable tactic. Trying to "compete for Evangelicals" is also a non-starter for the Godless.
Ann is thinking several moves ahead of these guys.

It'll be kinda difficult to get Evangelicals while touting the joys of abortion-on-demand. But they'll try it anyhow.

I hate to agree with Obama, but he's spot on (coughKerrycough):
Obama coupled his advice with a warning. "Nothing is more transparent than inauthentic expressions of faith: the politicians who shows up at a black church around election time and claps off rhythm to the gospel choir."
It's my understanding that he is, in fact, a man of faith. I won't question that, and there's plenty more issues to butt heads with him on. That being said, I hope the voters see through all these Democrats trying to court the Christian votes. By December, they will have forgotten that constituency.

How can the Godless compete for people of faith?Since the godless assume people of faith are stupid rubes they figure that if they lie to us then we'll easily fall for it. The fact that people of faith see through the false facade is lost on democrats, however.

How can the Godless compete for people of faith? By making us an offer they think we can't refuse...
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
and he said to Him, "All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me."

If Hollywood ever makes "Say Anything Part II", Barack Hussein Obama should definitely get the John Cusack-lead role.

This guy is shrewd. Whether he believes it or not is anyone's guess - he's saying the right things. If the dems were smart they'd continue to push him and guys like Evan Bayh to the forefront and throw a blanket over Kerry, Clinton, et al.

" shows up at a black church around election time and claps off rhythm to the gospel choir."
Did I tell you about the time I was speaking at a black church convention in Orlando and I was the only white face on the platform. The organist was one of the best jazz organists I have ever heard and the choir had the whole convention rocking and there I was, standing exposed for all to see my lack of rhythm. My host, the Bishop of the convention, saw my dilemma, put his arm around my shoulder and whispered to me, "why don't you sit down, put your head in your hands and the audience will think you were overcome with the Spirit or praying". Relief!!

It'll go something like this:
"Remember how Jesus said 'render unto Caesar' and remember the story of 'the widow's mite'?
"Okay then, you'll agree that Jesus was in favor of big government socialism, right?"
Well -- maybe not that ham-fisted.

...."Not every mention of God in public is a breach to the wall of separation. Context matters," the Illinois Democrat said in remarks prepared for delivery to a conference of Call to Renewal, a faith-based movement to overcome poverty. "It is doubtful that children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance feel oppressed or brainwashed as a consequence of muttering the phrase `under God,"' he said.
Sounds more like a charlatan than a man of faith with those comments.

I love Ronaldus Magnus, but years ago there was an old cable comedy show "Not Necessarily the News." It was like the Daily Show. Anyway, NNTN showed a lengthy clip of Nancy and President Reagan at a black church, amongst the choir. Nancy was clapping just fine, but the Prez could not stay in rhythm to save his life. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV. Not because it was Reagan, just because it was funny!

"If the dems were smart they'd continue to push him and guys like Evan Bayh to the forefront and throw a blanket over Kerry, Clinton, et al." My liberal, non Christian sister was telling me yesterday how much she dislikes Clinton and his wife and hasn't found a Democrat on a national level that she can support...so she voted for Bush twice.
To: Alex Murphy
We aren't buying it, Osama. Jimmy Carter kinda burned us on that one.
What authentic "expressions of faith" could the Liberals possibly show? They haven't a clue because they are neither authentic or people of faith.
