Oh, yes. When English-speaking crowds attended his appearances (other than in church of course), they would chant "J-P-2, We love you!" and he would sometimes call back, "J-P-2, Loves you, too!"
I beat you to it in #77. ;) (or, in #LXXVII....)
That was nice of him. I didn't know that.
He was a sweet man.
Is it just me, or have the last few days been a Festival of Loonies Unveiled? What a disapointment she's turned out to be.
Thanks for the ping.
LOL..thanks, now I will be laughing all day.
Dang! And here I thought I was being clever. ;^P
Those of us with more militaristic minds think of B16 like the B-17 bomber.
LOL!
It's funny that the MSM used terms like "Panzerkardinal" and "God's Rottweiler" thinking they were bad things to say about (then) Cardinal Ratzinger ... while we Catholics considered them high compliments!

Judging by some of the replies on this thread, evidently we do.
No, I am simply saying that based on previous statements that she has made without a script in hand leads me to believe that she could have said such idiotic things without stepping out of character. Playing this part and being herself seem to blend nicely, or shall I say that she seems to be playing herself.
ROFL!
I wonder, did that poor girl ever straighten out?
The decline in quality is probably also a function of overuse, too early. Pity.
My paternal grandmother ruined her mezzo voice singing tenor (good tenors are hard to find). I'm not a mezzo, more of a contralto, so singing tenor doesn't do me any harm. I also don't have anything like the voice my grandmother - or Charlotte Church - had.
I can understand your disappointment at Charlotte's fall from grace, and your gallant attempts to defend her here.
I had he same sort of feelings, decades ago, when the gorgeous Ingrid Bergman, who portrayed a beatific nun in "Going My Way", had a child out of wedlock. I was stunned.
So often we confuse the human being with the lovely image on stage or screen.
My voice "changed" when I was 12-14, dropped from 1st soprano through 2nd soprano to contralto.
I went on the pill after my last child, at the urgent recommendation of my OB/GYN (the alternative was a hysterectomy). In the past 2 years I've put 2 1/2 steps on the top of my range. I hadn't sung an A sharp since I was in junior high.
For some of us, the term suggests a military aircraft ... a weapon for the Church Militant, in Her spiritual warfare with "Principalities and Powers".
Phil Hartmann was a genius.
Her chain-smoking doesn't help either.
Huh. I suppose there are always exceptions.
