>> False dichotomy! The real question is, did she choose to play this character so as to express her views of the Pope? <<
True. But since we know absolutely nothing of the character, we have no basis for supposing which. Although I'll retract my comments about how bad the posting of the article was, at least for now, the article remains one of the most pathetically lame things I've ever read. NewsMax or the Boston Phoenix would shun that turd.
WOW!!
Talk about not aging gracefully!!
My guess, a tad too much alcohol, drugs, and late night partying.
This was a wonderful pictoral lesson for my daughter. I told her a pretty girl can become ugly when she becomes too bitter and/or makes a lot of immoral decisions.
...we have no basis for supposing which.
You don't. Everyone else seems to understand what her behavior here means.
Boy, that's the truth. I've told my daughters that if you're ugly on the inside, it's going to show on the outside, no matter how much you spend on clothes and makeup.
"This bald chick - what's with her head? Let's start with the chick. What gives, cue ball? I'm looking at you, I'm thinking: fourteen in the side pocket!"
"I'll tell you what you better understand! Next time you see Old Glory riding up that pole, you better sing that anthem, darling! You're lucky you're a chick, or you'd be nothing but a stain on the road and a crewcut. Our founding fathers went to the mat for you, baby!"
"It's not my flag - I'm Irish."
"Oh? Well, then stay off of this stuff.. [ mimes drinking ] That's the curse of you people."
Wonder if she is from Wales? Mmmmmm. Maybe that's why she resembles Elizabeth Taylor so much ~ could be a cousin even.
She has a couple of rather fantastic ones there.
My understanding is this is only a small part of a very real collection~!
"B16" isn't a Nazi. "B16" is a bingo call.
The "B's" in Bingo only go up to 15.
I defer to your superior familiarity. :) But really, what a thing to call the Pope!
I know it doesn't seem very respectful, but we called Pope John Paul II "JP2," and he seemed to appreciate the familiarity.
I don't think the B-vitamin series goes up to 16, either :-).
"Qui mange au pape, en meurt" (Who eats of the Pope, will die of it)
ROFL...classic skit
I thought they were kind of droopy, considering her youth...
LOL!
I wasn't aware anyone had called him that to his face. You'd think the current Pope would at least rate a more traditional, "BXVI".
"I'm talking to you, Mr. Clean."
Is B16 really all that different from JPII? Or would BXVI be better?
You're really going out of your way to defend her. A fan?
If she said those things about the Pope then, at the very least, she has no problems with that portrayal of him. Were it called on me in my job to make light of the Eucharist, I would refuse.
