A very good piece.

Wherever applause breaks out in the liturgy because of some human achievement, it is a sure sign that the essence of liturgy has totally disappeared and been replaced by a kind of religious entertainment.

Well said.

In addition, I think that applause after a piece of special music cheapens the offering of worship that that person has just made to God. In my previous church one of the givens was that applause are inappropriate and not to be done during the service. Our pastor went so far as to have any special music performed in the rear so we could hear it, but not see the human hands performing it. That might sound harsh at first, but it created an environment that allowed us to focus on the music, not the artists.

By your logic, slavery should be encouraged.

FYI, with the arrival of Christ (and His self-sacrifice for our salvation,) there is a NEW covenant.

NEW. Not OLD.

Things changed at the death of Christ. The veil of the Temple was ripped, etc., etc.

Just thought I'd try to help you out...

If you really believed what you posted, your rejoicing would be even greater than that of David.
