COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Focus on the Family founder and Chairman James C. Dobson, Ph.D., issued the following statement today as D. James Kennedy, pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., convalesces following a heart attack:
"My prayers and the prayers of all of us at Focus on the Family are with Dr. Jim Kennedy and his family during this time of illness. It has been my honor and pleasure to know him not only as a broadcasting colleague and a gifted pastor, but also as a dear friend for the past 30 years. He has been one of the nation's most powerful defenders of righteousness, never wavering from the eternal truths of Scripture. His voice is still vitally needed in this country and around the world.
"We are asking the Lord to restore the health of this good man, and to be with Anne and the rest of the Kennedy family during this challenging time."
Prayers for Kennedy. I have a great deal of respect for him.
AMEN!
This is a pastor that all Freepers should love. For many years Dr. Kennedy has promoted patriotism and tried to educate his audiences about our Founders and the incredible history of the United States. Nobody has done more to teach Americans that freedom comes from God, not the state.
He's a wonderful man.
Prayers for him and his family. We need goos steady men like this - more than ever.
Even for folks who don't cotton to Kennedy's own personal style/delivery
really should watch the last 20 minutes of each show.
I don't think there is a higher quality video presentation of current issues
that fairly shows the cultural stuggle going on between traditional
Christianity and secular progressives.
